This week, the touring production of the Broadway musical "The Color Purple" came to my city, and the review was exceptional. One member of the cast is an actor named Adam Wade, who received praise from our theater critic. The ciritc pointed out that he is most familiar to audiences from being a regular on the long-running sitcom "The Jeffersons".

Huh?

Who did Adam Wade play on the series? I can't remember the name, the actor or the character!

OMG - This was such a great question...so I had to start doing some research. the pics looked a little familiar but I couldn't quite place him. An internet search came up as he being the doctor in "the 3 faces of Florence"

He was the guy with the afro & mustache. He also played Willona's reoccurring love interest named Frank Mason in Good Times.

Is this the same Adam Wade who was a fairly big singer in the early 1960's??

Hmmm...I'm not sure. It could have been, because in the 70's he looked like he was in his late 30's/early 40's

Yes, apparently he is the same Adam Wade who was a singer in the 60s and 70s (and now singing in the musical) according to the review. I believe he's now in his 70s.

So if he only appeared on one or two eps of 'The Jeffersons' from 25-35 years ago, does the critic really think we would remember him from that show? He wasn't exaclty a 'regular' on the show (as the critic suggested)!
