Wayne Allwine, the voice of Mickey Mouse since 1977, passed away on May 18th of complications from Diabetes. He was 62 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Russi Taylor, who is the voice of Minnie Mouse.

Wow! I saw this thread earlier but never actually read it. I was thinking the guy was going to be in his 80's or something. I never expected him to be 62. That's awful! That is cute that his wife was Minnie Mouse. Mickey just won't be the same without Wayne. Sigh.....

What's cool is that he went in to voice Mickey for the movie Totally Minnie in 1987 and there he met Russi who was voicing Minnie. They fell in love, and officially got married in 1997.

Wayne was the 3rd Mickey, with Walt Disney being the first from 1928-1946, and James MacDonald being the 2nd from 1946-1976.

He was a good Mickey! I mostly hear the swedish voice of Mickey, but I've seen loads of the english. Well, he sounds kinda the same in all languages. Mickey Mouse is a great cartoon character!
