Worst physical pain you've felt in your life? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

For me this is pretty easy. It was the time my leg, and foot cramped up. Now I'm not talking about the kind of cramping where it goes away in 20 or 30 seconds, I'm talking about a cramp up your whole leg that last for around 30 minutes. It's almost as if your leg becomes paralyzed, only it doesn't paralyze the excrutiating pain. For anyone who's experience one of those cramps for any length of time, I sympathize with you. The second worse is actually what I'm experiencing now, only it was before that it was really bad. I'm talking about withdrawels. The first time I was taken of my adderol, I had such bad withdrawels, they can't even be explained. From the clod sweats, to the nausea, to the migraine, and feeling like your temperature's 105 degrees. For anyone who's suddenly been taken off a med, you know what I'm talking about. Alot of it too depends on the med, and how strong it is. That's why my withdrawels right now are a bit easier, what they took me off of isn't nearly as strong as adderol. So what was the worse physical pain you've ever felt in your life?

In Jan of 1998, I got my finger stuck in the garage door and in a state of shock, I pulled it out and half of the tip of my finger was cut off. My dad rushed me to the emergency room and thankfully it wasn't too late to have the finger stitched back together. When I woke up in the middle of the night after the pain medication had worn off, I was in unbelievable pain.

I suggest you stop putting your fingers in garage doors!

That does sound painful.

My top pick would probably be a toothache I had in the mid-1980s. Turned out the tooth needed a root canal.
I've also had a few episodes of acute (short-term) backaches, but the toothache was much worse.

I think the worst physical pain I had was when I broke my ankle playing volleyball in high school.

I broke my collarbone when I was in 3rd grade -- I hear that's one of the worst pains anyone can have -- and I don't remember the pain at all.

I've sprained my wrist twice... The first time. OMG. It didn't hurt at first... went home, went to bed. I woke up the next morning in a LOT of pain. Couldn't move my wrist... it hurt so ****ing badly. Had to haul ass as fast as we could to the ER.

I've had to have X-rays taken when I sprained my wrist both times. OMFG has anyone ever done that?? Having to move your limb in just the right way and then holding it like that for the machine. OWWW.

Sprains take longer than broken bones to heal. So I was in a lot of pain both times for over 6 months.

Besides childbirth the worst pains that I've had were an absessed tooth and I also had gallstones. At least in childbirth you get break between pains but the others were a constant non stop pain. I would say that these last too are tied as the worst! Misery!!!!!!!!!!

I've never broken a bone, but I did twist my knee horribly playing soccer. I'd usually twist my ankle once a week or once every two weeks (i'm VERY accident prone like that), but during a game, a girl and I collided as she was coming for the ball. I don't remember exactly what happened, because it happened so fast, but somehow I collided with her and tripped over her and twisted my knee. Our heads collided too, but that pain went away fast. I couldn't move for the next hour and for the next month I had to wear a brace on my knee.

Other than that, the most pain I've been in would have to be the one root canal I've had done. Ever since then, I get scared every time I have to go to the dentist.

#2. Broken wrist, it happened on a Friday night & I waited until Monday to go to the doctor. It already started to knit back together & they had to reset it, it hurt like ****.

Summer of 2004- I turned around and somehow got a severe and throbbing pain in my left shoulder. It hurt A LOT to move at all, but I had to go to school.

It was also the last day of my sophomore year of high school, so I still had to tough it out and finish my finals. The last thing I wanted to do was not show up on the most important

Luckily, I got a reward for my effort- not only would I be able to rest my shoulder for a week, but that night was also game 7 of the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals- unfortunately, it would be the last hockey game prior to the lockout- the last professional hockey game until October 5, 2005.

The worst pain I've ever experienced is back spasms. I have an arthritic disc in my back so as a result my back muscles have on a number of occasions gone into spasm. That is the body's way to react when you have an issue with your spine. The muscles tighten up thinking they have to take over supporting your body since the spine is compromised. The worst spasms I ever experienced happened about a dozen years ago at Christmas time. That was some kind of pain. And I missed Christmas dinner with my family too just to add insult to injury!

Earaches. I used to get them constantly as a child. These weren't over-in-a-little-while type, they'd last for weeks and weeks. The doctor actually gave me medications that would (temporarily) cause me to lose my hearing in one ear, as it was the only way I could function. I still get them from time to time, but not nearly as bad as I used to.
