Does anyone on here watch "Showbiz Tonight", which is on every night at 11PM (and every morning at 11AM in reruns) on the Headline News channel? I started watching it in 2005, when it first came on, at at the time it was by far the best entertainment news show I've ever seen. They didn't focus on all the gossipy stuff, or the negative stuff, or the "juicy" stuff. But for the past couple of years, the show went from being a unique entertainment news show that focused on INTERESTING entertainment news to just another E!-like tabloid show, only "more provocative". Like, most so-called "entertainment news shows" would go on and on about celebrity marriages, breakups and babies, this show would disect and analyze every little detail. Lately, for example, the top news stories always seem to be "The Octomom", "Susan Boyle's Makeover", "Jon & Kate" (I wouldn't blame the guy for wanting to get away from that vicious TYRANT he married), "Miss California", "Farrah Fawcett's Cancer" (leave the woman alone for God's sake! She's dying of cancer and the only reason she wanted to do the documentary was to help other people with cancer, not to be another tabloid target!), "American Idol Controversies" and "Superstar Weight Battles", or "Superstar's Shocking Confessions" (which usually turn out to be not too shocking). And that A.J. Hammer guy really grates on my nerves nowadays with his self-riteousness and how he makes every little story into this huge deal. Also, the sudden gender-bias (all men are monsters/all women are angels) is getting out of hand as well. Like they're making Kate Gosslyn, the most ATROCIOUS woman on the planet, into this innocent victim and Jon is the "big bad monster" when we all know it's the other way around. She cheated too, but they make a bigger deal about him cheating. They say, "He's a jerk for cheating on her!", yet "She has every right to cheat! She's a mother with eight children!" Okay...like HE isn't the father of eight children?! Don't get me wrong, cheating's a bad thing no matter what, but why always vilify the man while vindicating the woman. And when they feature stories on men, it's to point out our faults, but when they do stories on women, it's to spotlight their greatness. In other words, "Men-Are-Crap-Women-Are-Fabulous". And they made such a huge deal about Jaime Foxx making fun of Miley Cyrus, calling him "sexist" and "mysogynist", while Wendie Williams, a known radio personality who's much more offensive than Jaime Foxx, made even more degrading statements about the youngest Jonas Brother and she gets off Scott-free! So, in other words, Jaime Foxx making jokes about Miley Cyrus is considered "sexist", while Wendie Williams making jokes about the youngest Jonas Brother is "funny"? DOUBLE STANDARD!!! Also, when they get in these annoying "reporters" to talk about/debate all these outlandish "entertainment news" stories like they're doing their version of "Hard Talk" or something, then they get people writing in/calling in with their views...this show has oficially jumped the shark/gone downhill. I stopped watching altogether when they started getting all over Farrah Fawcett and Miss California. Any of you out there aware of this program?

While I don't watch this show regularly I have watched it occasionally. I'm sorry to hear it has deteriorated into just another tabloid show.

I used to watch it during the early 1990's. I remember an episode they did in June of 1991 where they interviewed the members of Van Halen about their new album For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge and the tour that was to follow. In December of that same year I remember the episode where they announced that Star Trek VI-The Undiscoverd Country had opened that past weekend at number 1.

I sometimes watch that show a couple of times a week. It used to be a cool show but now it's a big gossip show.

I had no idea it was on since then. I read somewhere that it premiered in early-2005. Yeah, this show got really offensive and made it seem like celebrities' personal lives are more newsworthy than their professional lives. In all honesty, I think this show went downhill/jumped the shark the first time they interviewed Miley Cyrus when she was just starting out. Then, a year later, Miley took it all off for Vanity Fair and they jumped all over her and made this huge public debate about it.

I remember first hearing about the death of producer Don Simpson (Flashdance, Beverly Hills Cop) on Showbiz Tonight in early 1996. They were one of the first to announce it. It was a sad day since Simpson was one of the greatest movie producers of the 80's and 90's.
