It sounds to me like you'd be quite well suited to Spiritualism, the New Age or Wicca. I myself am a New Ager, combined with elements of Christianity - I've kept what I feel are the positive aspects of Christianity. It's possible that looking into spiritualism or the New Age could help you understand a situation like this, but that is your choice, of course. |

First of all, im glad your ok. I think maybe your in shock. What you described sounds like it was a very shocking experience. I find it hard to believe in god at times as well. But when something like that happens. It's almost like there was someone or thing looking after you. Something giving you that feeling to move out of the way. Maybe a guardian angel.

I've known that feeling. Maybe not to the extent you are but I've had it make me wonder. Since then, all I try to do is live my life as well as I can. Try to be a nice person even if others treat you like ****. Try to pay it forward so to speak and either help or save someone else.
To me it's just another sign of how your life is important. For whatever reason might be down the road for you. Maybe to have a great kid who goes on to do some fantastic. Or even just for your voice. (AGAIN - HINT - go out for Idol or something). Get out of your safety and comfort zone a bit. I for one am just really glad you happened to move and step out of the way! And I do believe everything happens for a reason. You'll realize what it is someday.

You might still be feeling a degree of shock. Maybe after a few days you'll be able to put your feelings into perspective a little more. I'm cetainly glad to hear that you are safe.

![]() .... and yes, I have felt this way, Sarah. When my dad was is the hospital years ago, it was said that their was a good possibility that he wouldn't make it. I just remember praying so hard... and long story short, he did improve a little each day until he was completely recovered. A few days after I heard he would make it, I remember I was lying in bed one night, and I just started crying... and I seriously could not stop... I was just overwhelmed with gratitude to God, and I felt so close to, I don't know, somehow truly feeling God's presence, it was a really scary experience... It's like I knew at that moment that it was all real. I hope you are able to recover emotionally, Sarah.... I'm glad you didn't get physically hurt though. |

I'm so glad that fate was on your side, Sarah, and that you're still with us.
A similiar thing happened to my husband many years ago. Some metal pieces from an overhead bridge fell. One missed him by a split second, while the other one went straight through the hood of our car. If a piece of metal hit his head, he surely would have died. My husband was spooked for a day or two. Me, I was overcome with all sorts of emotions afterwards....enormous relief, fear of losing him, everything. I wish I could help you sort out your emotions. It sounds like survivor's guilt, but nobody died so that's not it. I tried to google this also, and all I could ascertain is that guilt is one very complicated emotion. I hope this feeling subsides. You did nothing wrong. Maybe you don't have to feel grateful to anyone. You don't owe an emotion to anyone or anything. Just feel happy to be alive. |

I can think of a moment like that in my life, but forget about that, I'm just so thankful that you're okay. I know alot of people would be lost without you, myself included, so I was very touched reading your story, and knowing that you're okay. I know you're not big on God or anything, but I am, and I will thank God tonight for letting you be okay. I definitely think you had someone, or something looking out for you, and your well being. Everything happens for a reason, and I believe there is a reason this happened. I love you lots Sarah, and truly am thankful that you are okay. I will say a prayer for you tonight!!

I'm glad you're okay, Sarah. To me this sounds like it'd be a pretty normal reaction. You almost got seriously injured so of course you're going to be upset and jittery. I agree with others that it might be shock. I haven't had an experience like that, but I'm sure if I did I'd feel very similar to how you're feeling. I'm sure it's terrifying and makes all sorts of thoughts run through your head. But you really have no reason to feel guilty at all. You're meant to be here with us and you don't have to feel guilty for that.
