Default Save Our Stations - Petitions

Lately...Toon Disney became Disney XD. This was basically the last blow to this Disney station franchise.

In 2002, The Disney Channel dumped Vault Disney (Bad Idea!) Now it's nothing but a Tween Station. Okay, but what about the rest of the shows that MADE Disney?! It's okay to keep them in the vault for 7 years, but it's now been more than 7 years. Toon Disney kept afloat with its cartoons...until 2005 when the cartoons of the 80's and 90's disappeared like rabbits.

Solution?

Vault Disney Channel. In the morning, they would play old Disney cartoons. In the midday, they would play Disney Movies. In the afternoon, they would play (What else?) Disney Afternoon Cartoons. In the evening, they would play a movie. And in the wee hours, they would show some old Walt Disney shows and archived shows....Just like the old Disney Channel.

There's STILL a market for this, it's small but if we can bring a petition for this...we can make it happen!

Default Save Our Station #2-Cartoon Network

This Station Franchise still has Boomerang...for now.

But...what it lost is that Looney Tunes isn't seen on neither Boomerang nor Cartoon Network....The station's backbone!

Also...Cartoon Network might as well NOT call itself Cartoon Network. Maybe Childrens Network, but not Cartoon Network since they accepted more live-action shows than animated.

Solution?

Bring back Looney Tunes as well as other shows that made Boomerang Boomerang (Ruff and Reddy, Atom Ant, Peter Potamus,...). Make a Cartoon Cartoons Station since there's a lot of shows that can make the station thrive and an Adult Swim Station since that part is thriving. And for the Adult Swim Station, have MST3K on it.

Just like the first post, this is a petition!

Default Save Our Station #3...Nickelodeon

I've been hearing that Nickelodeon is making a NickRewind Station. I hope it happens.

Why?

Because Nickelodeon isn't Nickelodeon for some of the first-string watchers (1979-1996). There are some who STILL yearn for the Nickelodeon/Universal Studios years, when the show was VERY creative.

Solution?

Have Nickelodeon launch the NickRewind Station and don't let them forget anything...and I mean anything. (YCDTOTV).

And yes...this too is a petition.

Default Save Our Station #4-Nick at Nite

Now this petition is different than the Nickelodeon petition, but it STILL needs attention.

Lately, Nick at Nite has now been owned by Nickelodeon and its predecessor TV Land is now doomed. What made TV Land was the retromercials and the shows prior to 1980. It's not that I hate 80's sitcoms, but it seems that they now own TV Land.

Solution?

A new TV Land station called TV Land 2. This features show since 1980 like "The Wonder Years", "ALF", and "Night Court" to name a few. And TV Land to return its older shows that people have long enjoyed.

Now...who's with me?

Default Save Our Station #5 (VH1)

I mentioned this earlier that there should be a petition for this...and here it is.

VH1 played music videos as well as MTV. But now...they're like MTV because they don't play ANY music videos.

Solution?

Have VH1 Classics play music videos and movies. Ranking from the 50's to the 90's.

Let Music Videos live on!

I keep waiting for Adult Swim to spun off into its own channel.

Also the fact that you can't see Looney Tunes anywhere on TV is just a crime!

Nick at Nite came first, then TV Land--just for the record.

A TVLand 2 may sound nice, but they would end scewing that up too

Default Save Our Station #6 (Family Channel)

Okay, now this one is tough because it was known as The Family Channel, FOX Family Channel, and now ABC Family. Many of these shows are ABC reruns.

Solution?

Have ABC Family still show these shows, but on Friday Night have a TGIF Block showing the shows that were on TGIF on ABC. Also...show ABC Shows from the 80's such as "Growing Pains", "Mr. Belvedere", and "Wonder Years" to name a few.

I would actually love for the old CBN Cable Network to come back.

Please post any remaining petitions in this thread. Also, this really belongs on the General board.

IMO, Hallmark Channel is filling the "family channel" void and, although they could use some more shows, is doing a decent job with it.

Default Petition for GSN

This Game Show Network STILL dominates with game shows, but some are leaving and are now bringing reality game shows.

Solution?

GSN is STILL doing fine, but add "The Price is Right" and it will bring some of that retro audience.

sure is a wonder no one airs the Bob Barker reruns. I wonder if there is a moratorium on how long before they can air again.

Not only I made a petition...but I made a site where you can say what should be done to some TV Stations.

http://mrcleveland.proboards.com/index.cgi

I hope you like it.
