Lol Mike Douglas---Where did he go?

I know Mike got married and moved away, but was he ever refered to again? Ernie became the 3rd son, so I guess they had to pretend he didn't exist anymore. I always thought Chuck Cunningham was the original one to go to the island of forgotten sitcom characters, but I guess Mike went there first!

After Mike married his wife (Sally I think her name was), he moved away and became a teacher. In the following season he was mentioned a few times, but as the show went on they stopped mentioning him.

I know that in real life, Tim Considine (Mike) was once married to Charlotte Stewart, who later on found fame as Miss Beadle on Little House on the Prairie. His brother John was the villainous Reginald Love on the soap Another World back in the mid-1980s. As for Tim, I have no idea what he is doing now.

Not quite, Mike is mentioned in later seasons, unlike Chuck Cunningham, where they mention that there are only two children in the later seasons. Mike is not referred to by name in the last several seasons but they never refer to Robbie being the oldest or only Bobbie and Chip being the only two sons. There is a difference in less frequent references to a character in later seasons and statements that indicate that a character never existed.

I saw Tim on the Shaggy Dog DVD (the original) in the extras where they interviewed the stars and he was looking good for his age. I don't recall what he said he was doing, but apparently he was happy and didn't mind not being in the showbiz spotlight.

Well Don Grady, Barry and Stanley Livingston all have facebook pages, so I decided to check and see if Tim Considine had one, but he dosent. I did some digging on the net to find some info about him. Apperently he became interested in auto racing and car repairs, so he went to pursue that. He has written a few books about sports cars and auto repairs, and thats pretty much what he has done in recent years. I did find a photo of him online from a few years ago and he looks good for his age.

There was a mention in at least one episode that Mike and Sally went to live in Arizona, presumably right after their honeymoon, where Mike became a college instructor or prof.
Actually quite a few mentions overall, dwindling later.

I remember reading that Tim Considine was more interested in directing than acting; thus him leaving the cast. However, it appears much of his life after M3S was in writing and photographing automobiles and their history.

I think Tim Considine is writing an autobiography at the moment. Shelley Fabares mentioned it on the Donna Reed Show DVD interview.

I hope Paramount gets their act together and at least release 3-5 on DVD. I'm fine with that. The B&W era is timeless.
