WINSTON-SALEM — A man failed to rob a convenience store Thursday morning with a banana, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office says.

John Steven Szwalla, 17, of 340 Yukon Trail in Wallburg, is charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

According to a sheriff’s report, a man tried to rob 109 Biz Center around 1 a.m. Witnesses told deputies he entered the store and demanded money from the clerk while holding an object under his shirt that looked like a weapon. When a customer grabbed the man’s arm, however, a banana fell out from under his shirt, according to the report.

The owner, Bobby Ray Mabe, said he and a customer jumped Szwalla, holding him until deputies arrived. While they waited, Mabe says the teen ate the banana.

Mabe says deputies took pictures of the peel. Forsyth County Sheriff's office spokesman Maj. Brad Stanley says deputies joked about charging Szwalla with destroying evidence.

Jail officials say he doesn't have an attorney and is being held at the Forsyth County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.

Well its pretty obvious that the robber is not the brightest bulb on the block, BUT he's still a whole lot smarter than those 2 Domino dumbo's who blasted their culinary prep (GAG!) tips all across the Internet for hundreds of millions to see. Beuna suerte to them when it comes to finding another job - if they ever do.
