Default SecondLife role play

Hi,
Always been a LH fan when I was a teen and it was on the air at night

I thought at least a few readers here might be interested in hearing about an interactive sim located in SecondLife's 3D world that might be fun since it is strictly devoted to role playing the wild west 1865.

Those who have heard of SecondLife won't need this information below, those who have never been on it will need to register for an account on secondlife.com selecting the free or paid registration (can upgrade or downgrade anytime, there's benefits of either/or depending on what you want to do)
You get a default "Avatar" with clothes, typically a boy next door in jeans look or similar for female.
There is a learning curve to be sure, but after getting used to it and the tools provided, you can download and wear Victorian era clothing in a large variety for both men and women, you can also carry accessories such as pistols, hats and the like- everything you can think of that people used in the 1860's is available, many items free, many more for a small cost in "Linden dollars" (approx USD $4.12= 1,000 Linden dollars, and a complete upgraded outfit with scripts and things might run say 350 Linden dollars to give you an idea of relationships of money in-world)

When you get into SecondLife, use the search button and in the "places" tab search for;

Territory of Utah

It comes up at the top of the list currently, the description is;

Wild western roleplay that takes place on the edge of the frontier. Harsh times where struggle for survival is keen.

When you arrive, you actually arrive in a welcome hub, it can be confusing for new people but there's lots of help and people around will help get you started. You wull need to click on and "wear" the "meter" which registers your health, food and stamina- all part of the role play where you need to eat virtual food and if you are injured or get into a gun fight your "health" level drops and can be fixed by a doctor.

The sim rules include; Child/family SAFE- mature language but no sex or nudity allowed, no post 1860's clothes, no purple hair or fantasy avatars such as dragons and snoopy dogs.
The sim has many roles and people can come as a visitor as well as to participate- you LIVE in the 1860's in every way and in conversations you talk the talk and walk the walk in every way.

There are animal avatars in the sims such as horses, dogs, wild animals and so on, all of these can interact with one another and the people in a variety of ways.
I role play a horse, red fox and collie, and my "owner" when I am a horse is a lady who role plays as a 12 year old girl who is a daughter of a doctor in town.
You can rent a cabin or house to furnish as you like and have a "home base", buy and sell a variety of things and services, take a job and so on. Everything is like the real world there but in a full 3D live environment.

I will post some photos as I can to show what some of this looks like, but for those who really like the era as I do, and have an interest in good role play that takes place on the fly, living in the LHOTP era this can be a fun place to be.
Just like the real west, there is a sheriff, marshalls, outlaws, shop keepers, merchants, a saloon, stores, abandoned mines to explore, forests, waterfalls , small towns as well as indian settlements with people who live as Native-Americans in teepees and wear authentic looking clothing, hunt with spears and so on. I know at least two there who are genuine Native-Americans.

So if this sounds like it might be of interest to you, drop me a private note here and I'll try to guide you in, or explore SecondLife yourself.

The map image shows 8 squares representing states- Utah, Colorado, California etc, each of these squares is one sim, and to give you the idea of the scale- the area of one sim is about 8 acres if it was real life, so this is about 64 acres of land to explore! The gree dots are people, the yellow squares are places that people can rent for larger homesteads, stores, a ranch and so on.

The first photo is looking out of my stall with my "owner"

Basic rules for this Wild West sim include the following, "combat" just means you can role play in context with guns i.e a saloon shootout, bank robbery etc;

You have just entered the Territory of Utah. This sim is rated mature due to the wild west theme and the nature of wild west roleplaying. We are playing in the 1860's, please dress and behave appropriately.
This sim is full role play and full combat.
By teleporting to the role play area you confirm to have read and agreed to the following

10 Commandments on this Sim
------------------------------------

1) Wear the correct combat hud available at the info tent on the hub at any time in the role play area.
2) NEVER reset the hud, unless you wear the flip title with the red "wounded"-text.
3) Wear the observer tag for your protection, as long as you are new to this place.
4) Do not take part in rp, do not speak out of character in open chat, unless you are dressed properly, according to the period.
5) If you have questions, address one of the admins or a player on im.
6) No public nudity. There are child avatars on this sim and showing off in public with child avatars around is a breach of ToS.
7) No nekos, furries, dragons or other fantasy creatures allowed.
8) No random shooting. Shooting at people just for fun will earn you either a vacation in jail - when roleplayed - or a ban.
9) Griefing will earn you a lifetime ban.
10) Always try to remember: We all are here to have fun, not trouble. In case of dispute, rather take the issue to an admin before causing drama.

Be welcome to the Wild West in the 1860's! If you like it here, you can apply for a major role in our play.
