Default Microwave or regular oven?

do you use a microwave oven to cook food, or a regular oven? I use a regular oven, and just use a microwave to heat things up, and defrost things. My brother, who sells appliances, says that's what most people use microwaves for anymore.

What about you?

If I want the food to taste better, I use the oven, if I'm hungry and just want something fast, I'll use the microwave. If I'm just heating something up though, like leftovers, I always use the microwave.

I am not a big cook. I've used my oven twice in fifteen years. I live by the microwave, which I easily use 10X a week. Love that thing! And since I only cook for me, once in a while, maybe once every two weeks, I use my toaster oven. (Does a toaster oven count as an oven????)

I use both pretty regularly. I like to make homemade scalloped potatoes in the microwave, you have to cut the power back though or it will bubble out. When I cook them in the oven it takes twice as long. It's the same with some casseroles I make too.

I use both, depending on what's being cooked. If it's a pizza, for instance, I'll always use a regular oven. If it's a TV dinner or leftovers, it's always nuked!

Cool

I use the oven for cooking and the microwave for reheating. The one thing I cook in the microwave is hot cereal. (i.e. oatmeal, cream of wheat etc.)

Depends on how much time I have (or how HUNGRY I am), but I personally prefer the conventional oven.

I use the microwave for popcorn, warming up canned veggies, reheating coffee or doing oatmeal. I never use it to cook a meat like a roast or chicken. As for our regular big convention overn--it's a storage unit now We have a sizable toaster oven that we have used quite often in the past 2 years and now that we own the FlavorWave Oven--we use that for all our roasts, chickens, etc.

Same here. If I have the time to wait, I'll use the oven. If not, I micro. I couldn't live without having both.

I tend to use the microwave more, but for something really special, I use a regular oven or stove top. For example, I had Velveeta shells and cheese and it always comes out the best when its prepped the regular way.

I use both. The micro to heat things up. I don't really cook using the micro. I cook food with the regular oven.
