while he was still alive! It seems like he was only nominated because he died. And that's not fair. He didn't win, but I'll always be proud of David Hyde Pierce (who won that year) for his acceptance of the award. He mentioned Phil. Clearly it should have gone to Phil.

But in general NewsRadio should have won a truck load of Emmys. They should have each won an Emmy, much like in the episode "Awards Show" where they all won, even Joe won for Best Electrician, or something like that, lol.

I get it, the ratings weren't good, but you'd still think when the people who chose the winners watched the episodes that were presented to them, they would have chosen them for something.

For the record, I have one of the For Your Consideration tapes from season four. The two episodes were "Catherine Moves On" and "Sinking Ship." I believe they won the Emmy for the costuming in "Sinking Ship", but in the commentary they make it sound like they won for wardrobe in general.

It's truly because of the Emmy's lack of interest in NewsRadio why I consider the Emmys a joke, and haven't watched a single broadcast in ages.

Well, DHP is a Broadway star. I'll take Phil over DHP any day, personally.

I'm not sure what the Emmy criteria are but I'll bet it doesn't give a SNL parody expert an Emmy.
