The Mafia Princess may soon be thrown out of her castle.
Victoria Gotti is a deadbeat on the mortgage for her mansion in Old Westbury, L.I., which was prominently featured in the TV series "Growing Up Gotti." The daughter of the late Gambino crime boss owes JP Morgan Chase about $650,000 and hasn't made a payment in two years, court papers say. A four-judge panel of the Brooklyn Appellate Division has granted the lender's motion for summary judgment on the foreclosure and the appointment of a referee to report whether the property can be sold in one parcel. The decision reversed a decision in 2007 by Nassau County Supreme Court Justice Roy Mahon who determined foreclosure proceedings were premature at the time. Gotti's ex-husband, Carmine Agnello, got a $850,000 loan to buy the palatial home in 1996 -- five years before he pleaded guilty to racketeering charges in connection with his Queens auto junkyard. Victoria became the sole owner of the property in 2004 and the mortgage went into default while she and Agnello "were involved in a bitter matrimonial action," court papers say. She was able to stave off a scheduled foreclosure sale in 2005 by agreeing to pay JP Morgan Chase $50,000 up front and $25,000-a-month. Gotti made several payments and then stopped, which prompted the bank to declare her in default again. Gotti's lawyer, Matthew Dollinger, did not immediately return a call for comment. http://www.nydailynews.com/real_esta...d_mansion.html |
