I was reading a Cosmpopolitian article on how to use household products to save on beauty treatments, such as using vinegar a s a clarifying rinse for hair color, instead of paying for a box at a drugstore. They put something on the side bar for DON'Ts to save on beauty. I remember they had something like this. "Do NOT use turpentine to remove your eyeshadow and blush.... Hey, it works for paint, so it should work for your face to, right?NOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Also, you should not use turpentine as a make-up remover if you smoke. Your make-up won't be the only thing removed as a result. |

I would think that if I put turpentine on my face, I'd actually need makeup to cover up all the scars and so forth. After the bandages come off that is!

So what happens when you get paint on your face? Do you try makeup remover? (won't work!) There's nothing wrong with using it on your face if you're removing paint. Just don't get near the eyes. I've even tried it when I got hair dye on my face - it works. I wouldn't do it everyday, but it's made so that it can be used on the face to remove paint. |

If I got paint on my face, I'd scrub it off with my fingers, soap, and water. It may make my face raw from scrubbing it hard, but better my face to be raw then to be chemically screwed!

when i was a young boy - certainly 5 or under, i was playing in the garage and saw what i assumed to be a pop bottle filled with pop and promptly gulped it down. For some reason my dad had unfortunately decided to put some turpentine in this pop bottle and left it well within reach of his small children - at least one of which was already quite well known for getting into things and having frequent accidents.
i only vaguely remember the hospital and the pain and getting stomach pumped (that was my first of several times) and the burning and mom yelling at dad and having strange disjointed nightmares about the incident for several years afterwards. my dad has a Phd and apparently a genius-level IQ, but i personally think he is an idiot. |

The simple fact that they have to warn people not to use turpentine as an eye makeup remover does not exactly restore my faith in people. There are just too many people walking around with NO common sense. *scared*
