Definitely "One in a Million" starring Shirley Hemphill. I've never seen it but I would buy a copy in a heartbeat. I love anything with Shirley.

How about "Small Wonder" and "Out of this World". I remember those shows very well.

Two great shows but they can hardly be classed as "short lived". Both of them ran for 4 years.
