Default Anyone Remember The Midnight Special?

I caught part of an infomercial for The Best of the Midnight Special on DVD last night and I was wondering if anyone remembers the pioneering late-late-night music show that featured many recording acts over its eight year run. The show also featured Helen Reddy as host for a couple of seasons and as the show's announcer (and sometimes host) Wolfman Jack.

I do

I would say that show was hit or miss. Sometimes they would have great acts and sometimes it would be a dull show. In some areas the show didnt air until 1am.

It left the air before I was born but I have seen bits and pieces of it on YouTube. Pretty cool stuff.

Thumbs up

Yup - I remember it for sure! Used to come home late and turn it on as well as Don Kershner's Rock Concert. I remember seeing Rod Stewart on it performing "Tonight's The Night" from Night On The Town.

That was a great show. Anyone who was anyone in music did a stint on that show. The performances were energetic.

Howilu, I saw that same informercial and it bought back memories.
