Default Not understanding why Lebron is not liked by so many people and everyone loved MJ

Lebron is the JORDAN of today, best player in the NBA and has tons of commercials like MJ had during his time and everyobody wanted to be like Mike. But I talk to so many people who can't stand Lebron. I wonder why?

He is not a thug, very exciting player, not cocky, very funny and this man is just so disliked.

MJ was always ARROGANT and people loved the ground he walked on

What is with you, Sol?

You're complaining about EVERYTHING basketball-related.

LeBron has been getting Jordan comparisons for the last 3 years. He has nothing on Jordan and never will. The man can't even hit a 15 footer consistently. Jordan was loved because he was the greatest. He could literally give Christ a run for his money.

I don't have anything against Lebron, he's just no Jordan.
Jordan in his day got away with a lot. He use to push off the defender, and at times was very pompous. But, the man is an icon, you have to give credit where credit is due.

Kobe on the other hand is an arrogant SOB. So I agree with you on that.

So can we agree that Lebron is the JORDAN of today in the NBA?

Same Thing as 20 years ago, 1989 Jordan had been denied a title 3 times in the previous years and then in a couple of years he TOOK over.

20 years later, Lebron has been denied a title in last 3 years and now looks like he will take over starting in 2011

So I will ask you again, he is the JORDAN of this era???

Jordan had years of:

35 PPG
5.9 APG
5.5 RPG
3.2 SPG
1.6 BPG

and

32.5 PPG
8 APG
8 RPG
2.9 SPG
0.8 BPG

LeBron's highest numbers for each category:

31.4 PPG
7.2 APG
7.9 RPG
2.2 SPG
1.1 BPG

Jordan has him beat in every category.

No. When Jordan played in the late 80s and early 90s, he was above everyone by a good margin. Bird's back was near crippling him and Magic was past his prime. LeBron today has Wade and Kobe right on his behind.

Speaking as a Clevelander, he didn't win any popularity points when he showed up to a Indians/Yankees playoff game (played IN CLEVELAND) wearing a Yankees cap. He also is a native northeast Ohioan (from the Akron area) and has made no bones about his love/interest in NY. That's what bugs me about him. It's kind of like biting the hand that feeds you.

Cool

Many pro athletes are more popular in retirement than they were when they were active athletes. Perhaps this will be the case with Lebron too.
