Personally...I cracked up laughing at the Rerun Show's version of Facts of Life.

I saw it when it originally aired and watched it again last night after you posted this. Sure, it makes fun of our beloved characters, but I was able to see the humor in that. I know others will probably disagree.

That show was so creative and I'm sure the 7 episodes produced will never be seen again and that television will never be that daring and expermental again, I'm so glad I originally recorded the entire 7 episodes, a few months back I put them to DVD as to preserve them forever. Loved the fact that celebrities like Dustin, Danny & Todd all made appearances to laugh at themselves and get the joke!

Why NBC never chose to do this again as a summer series is mind boggling......no, they would rather keep airing cheap reality crap and revive those that already failed on other networks.

I need to go to Youtube and watch this stuff

Ooh, thanks for letting me know. I loved the FOL rerun show (the people who played Mrs. G and Natalie cracked me up ) and the Diff'rent Strokes one was funny too.

This was awesome. The only criticism I have was that they used a male actor to play Jo. The acting for the others was completely dead-on.

I liked the fact that they had a man play Jo since Jo was so butch. The Rerun Facts of Life episode was one of the best on the Rerun Show and the did a parady of one of the top 10 FOL episodes. Plus Gary Coleman making an cameo as the security guard topped it off.

I just watched it on YouTube.

The good:

The mannernism of Mrs. Garrett, Tootie, and Natalie were spot-on! Mrs. Garret's vocalizations and pitch changes as she talked was hilarious, Natalie smiling and laughing at herself with every line was perfect, and Tootie's overexcitement and jumping was just so good.

The dept. store and the dorm at least looked somewhat close to what we saw on the show. The dept. store scene was the funniest. The sassy saleslady, Gary Coleman's appearance, the change in blouse size, and the sexual innuendo of the handcuffs were just so funny and brilliant.

The ending with Mrs. Garrett throwing the lingerie into Blair's face had me cracking up.

The bad:

I have no idea why this took place mainly in the living room. They didn't have a living room set in season 2. The set didn't even remotely look like anything we saw on the show.

Jo was too manly and butch to be believable, we barely got to see Blair other than eating (and I get that is was a nod to Lisa's weight gain and The Fats of Life), and the acting wasn't that great from these two.

Great points.

"Jo" was too over the top; while you liked Tootie jumping up and down, I didn't care for that. I did feel like "Natalie" was exaggerated in a very funny way, and "Mrs. Garrett" was a funny take on the character.

The living room set was odd; as you say, it didn't resemble anything from the show.

Since this was a comedy parody, it was not suppose to be believable, it's suppose to be funny. Of which it was, they exaggerated Jo's butchiness and time in the streets to make it funny.

I absolutely hated what they did with BLAIR: they mocked her by stuffing her with food and making her sound like a complete idiot!!!! (I think she was the worst parody of them all!!!!)

MRS G was also very bad: they turned her into this monstrosity of character that looked nothing like her!!!!

JO was a bit exaggerated too....

Only TOOTIE and NAT matched perfectly!

I didn’t find the Jo portrayal funny because it was too exaggerated and trying too hard to present her character as a man/having masculine qualities. Jo was never that butch, if it had been less subtle and more closer to her character, I would have enjoyed it better.

I think Blair was too one note too. They could have done more than just having her stuff her face. But then again, she wasn’t a big part of that episode.

I think they should have just done the parody without BLAIR: as you said, she didn't have that many lines in that episode (it was more a JO, NATALIE & TOOTIE) and i absolutely hated how they portrayed her!!!! (this character was NOTHING like her lol!)

Very bad!!!!
