What would have happened if jordan missed that shot against the Cavs in Game 5 of the 1989 First Round playoff Game?

Would the Cavs have been the Dominant Eastern Team instead of the Bulls?

Would Chicago have still won a title in 1991 or would they have falen two steps back?

Would Detroit have won another title in 1991?

Chicago obviously would have lost the series.

No. They still would have had to beat the Knicks, and then the Pistons. If your team has an injury prone big man(i.e. Brad Daugherty), you're not going anywhere. Aside from an ECF appearance in '92, Cleveland didn't do anything because they had an injury prone big man.

The Bulls were a young team. They had the most potential of any team in the league at the time. In '89, Jordan was 26, Pippen 24, and Grant 25. Three core guys no older than 26, one of which was the best player in the game.

That Cavs team was so good, I was heartbroken watching that game in May of 89 and I hated Michael Jordan ever since. Mark Price was a top 5 Point in the leaguem Larry Nance had a killer Jumpshot, Ron Harper had both, Ehlo had the three. I honestly rthink the Cavs would have been in the Finals vs the Lakers.

I'm thinking that core would have been broken up before 1991 because iof they lost to Cavs they would have been retooling to get better and probably would have never smelled the Finals in 1991

Good, but not championship material. Ewing would have had his way with Daugherty. Daugherty was a solid rebounder, an efficient scorer, and a better passer than some point guards, but he was not a great defender for a 7 footer. Even if they beat the Knicks, they would have gotten the ***** kicked out of them by the Bad Boys. If the Bulls couldn't beat Detroit in '88, '89, or '90, Cleveland certainly wouldn't have.

The core consisted of 3 players no older than 26. One of those players was the best in the game. It was only a matter of time before Chicago got to the Finals. Detroit was getting older, Boston was even older than Detroit, and the Knicks and Cavs were not built to be championship teams.

I know but what saying is do you think the Cavs would have replaced the Bulls as the Team to face the pistons in 90 and then come back in beat them in 1991. You know that losing a playoff series on a buzzer can set a franchise back for years.

Another example of that would be the Celtics of 1993.

It just seem like after the draft it would be hard to discuss anything nBA related unless there a offseason move that was major.
