BREAKING NEWS: Dodgers OF Manny Ramirez Suspended 50 Games - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

He tested positive for MLB's Drug & Treatment Program, for a banned substance. It is said the substance was treated for a medical condition, and was not steroids- even though it was in drug form. Ramirez made a statement earlier in front of fans, teammates & the press- alongside his agent Scott Boras, explaining the legality of his suspension & apologizing to the Dodgers and Dodger fans.

After serving the 50 game suspension, Ramirez will be eligable to return to the team July 3rd vs. San Diego, shortly before the All Star Break.

The Dodgers are 21-8 so far this season- and are undefeated at 13-0 at home with Manny in the lineup this season.

SHOCKING news...Thoughts, opinions on this?

He made David Ortiz 10xs better...What's Ortiz doing now though?

NOTHING- lol. He hasn't hit a homer in over 130 at bats so far this season...he sucks..Manny made him a million times better, hitting behind him- gave Ortiz so many possibilities..Manny is Manny, but a talented player and a great part of the game.

Us Clevelanders had a good laugh about this at work. Manny being Manny - now that he's pushing 40 (if he isn't there already) becomes a lamer and lamer excuse every year. What are the odds that he'll actually serve all 50 games??

He has to serve 50 games- lol. It's not a matter of when he wants to stop serving the sentence. Rules are rules.

Just because the substance he tested positive for was being used to treat a medical condition does not mean it's not steroid related. Long term steroid use is a contributing factor to a number of medical conditions.

This won't hurt the Dodgers as much as people think. They have an excellent pitching staff. Even if they play .500 ball during Manny's absence, that puts them at 46-33. They would probably still have at least a 5 game lead on second place.

Not to mention they have power hitters in Andre Ethier, Matt Kemp etc. and speed on the base paths in Furcal & the other dude that used to be on the Marlins.
