Biggrin Weddings- How Old?

It interested me to ask and know how old everybody was when they

1. were married- age & what year
2. were involved in a wedding- brides mads, best man etc.
3. or were in a wedding- as in, invited to the wedding as a friend, family member or mentor/important person etc. of the bride or groom, or their family....

you can answer one or all of the above...which ever is fine, but I get really curious about topics such as these..

i am 20 and haven't been married yet & not even close to being married, I need a girlfriend at the moment first but I do hope I find tha special lady forever someday...

and i was first invited & in a wedding, probably in 1998/1999 when my Uncle Rick and Aunt Lisa got married..my Aunt remarrying too....but family was obviously invited and I was 10-11 at the time I'd say. It was fun . And my parents wed in 1986, two years before I was born so obviously I couldn't of attended or went to theirs since I was born in '88.

And finally, the first and only time I was actually apart of a wedding, besides being invited to the day, was in 2001 when my Uncle Chris and his bride Sue, got married. I was set up and arranged to be the ring bearer but I never carried a ring on a pillow, or the ring in general . I was just assigned to be in the wedding and sat at the main table at the reception, so they assigned me that lol...

What about you....? Feel free to share some stories and events, or when all of these evens happened in your life or family/friends of yours, lives...

married: never, future cat lady here. was semi-engaged at 17 and part of me is still heartbroken, but it just didn't happen.

involved in a wedding: well, when i was 18 my ex's imbecile of a fiancee had the ingenious idea of me being her bridesmaid, which of course i rejected and am still relentlessly making fun of her for. but no, i've never actually ended up being in one.

invited to a wedding: i was invited to a friend's wedding when i was 18 and i went to it. (not the same couple as the one mentioned above of course, lol)

The only wedding I've ever been invited to, and went to, was my brother's back in July of 2006. I wasn't a best man or anything, because my brother knew I'd probably be too nervous standing up there in front of over 100 people in 95 degree weather. (Good call on my brother's part) lol! I did however walk my mom down the aisle, as she lit a candle representing my brother, before taking my seat. The wedding was actually pretty cool, and was traditional for the most part, except for the end. As the bride and groom said their I do's, instead of the traditional wedding song being played, the theme to star wars began to play, (My bro's a huge Star Wars fanatic), as my bro and step-sister made their way to the hummer that awaited them. I hadn't known that that was going to happen, and so I bursted out laughing when I heard it. lol! Unfortunately though, their marriage didn't last, as they are currently separated, and in the process of getting divorced.

I've never been involved in or invited to any weddings. Someday I will be, I suppose, but so far, not yet.

I'm a sad sack, never been married, but have been engaged a couple times. I guess I'm just not the marrying type. I'm too independent. Sorry to say, but I'm picky, too. I would need to find somebody that either likes to go to rock concerts & travel, too, or would allow me to continue to do that.

I've never been part of a wedding. Even sadder!!

I don't remember the 1st wedding I was invited to but I've been to weddings of my cousin's and 2 of my sister's friends.

That is so cool!! I love when people break away from tradition. I was thinking that if(or when) I ever get married, having a theme, maybe Halloween, since I love that. I was also thinking a Christmas theme but that's usually a crazy time for alot of people. Halloween would work better.

Married- I got married in 1992, but it only lasted a few hours. I was 5, he was 6 and he went home to his mom, leaving me all alone

In Weddings- I've been in 2 weddings, I was a flower girl in my cousin's wedding when I was 7 and a bridesmaid in my aunt's wedding when I was 12.

Been to- I've been to 3 weddings I was invited to, all friends of the family.

Yeah that must of been tough...but good judgement by your brother

That's interesting, and awesome Brad- but it's pretty funny lol. Your brother seems unique and that is interesting; I've never heard of that but I can picture you their cracking up randomly . May the force be with you, I now pronounce you- Luke and Leah....cough cough I mean...I now pronounce you mr. and mrs. so and so- LOL .

And that sucks about them separating & divorcing...my Uncle Chris & Sue separated 2 WEEKS after they got married- lol. It was horrible. What happened was, he wanted kids so bad as he was getting older and older, and she wanted a big, blowout wedding with family and friends their. He fulfilled to have the wedding, if they could have kids, but she never fulfilled what he wants & didn't hold up the other end of the bargain, if you will...

And my Aunt Lisa & Uncle Rick are still [happily] married, and have a kid named Matthew, my cousin obviously .

Cool

I have never been married.

I was a candle lighter at my Brother and Sister-in-laws wedding in 1974 when I was 9. (they just celebrated their 35th anniversary this week!) I was also a candle lighter at my Sister and Brother-in-law's wedding in 1982 when I was 17. And I was an usher at my other Sister and Brother-in-law's wedding in 1989 when I was 24.

As far as attending weddings I have attended the weddings of numerous cousins as well as of several friends. I also attended my Uncle's second wedding when he remarried after my aunt died.
