Default Great lesser known movies you've seen!!

This thread is dedicated to all the good lesser known movies you've seen, that you're curious if anyone else has seen. Just post a movie that is not very well known, or one that was once popular, but has since been forgotten, and people can respond to whether they've seen it or not, and what they thought of it. I also think this thread is a good idea for movie recommendations that people probably wouldn't get the chance to ever see normally, except with it being posted here, it gives them the chance to see an unknown gem. I will start with a very unknown movie that is actually my favorite movie of the 2000's, and one of my five favorites of all time. It's a documentary called "My Flesh and Blood". It actually won the audience choice award at the Sundance film festival in 2003. For anyone who is into extremely touching movies, you've got to see it!!! Everyone who watched it that I recommended it to, loved it, and if you're into emotional movies, you will probably love it too. In short, It's about a California woman named Susan Tom, who adopted 12 special needs children. So has anyone here seen this amazing film? If so, what did you think of it?? And for those who haven't seen it, look it up and rent it. I don't think you'll regret it!!

Here's a link to Rottentomatoes.com which talks about the movie further. As you'll see, it got amazing reviews, and scored a 90% on the tomato meter. For those not familiar with the tomato meter, 90% means it's really good!!

Here's a two minute trailer for My Flesh and Blood. I figured I'd post it, so that people could check it out, and see if it's something they'd be interested in seeing.

I haven't heard of that one, Little Mel, but it looks interesting.
Here's some of my favorites-

The Reflecting Skin '90- A boy growing up in the 1950's begins to believe that the woman who his older brother(Viggo Mortensen) has become involved with is a vampire. Very David Lynchian.

Doin' Time on Planet Earth '88- Quirky comedy about a teen who believes he's an alien. Adam West, Roddy McDowall, Maureen Stapleton.

The Chocolate War '88- New student rebels against his Catholic High School.

Purple Haze '83- College dropout in the late 60's trying to figure out what he's going to do with his life gets drafted into the war.

It really is a great movie, and you might want to check it out sometime. I haven't heard of any of the movies you mentioned, but I will definitely look them up, and see if they'd be something I might be interested in. Thanks for posting them!!

Btw, it's awesome to see a fellow Oregonian on the boards. I'm from Portland. I don't think there's a single consistent poster here from Oregon, other than myself on these boards, (I may be wrong), so it's great to see someone else from my home State representing here at S.O. I hope to see you post alot more in the future!!!

Cool, I love it down there. Definitely a beautiful area!! I use to go down there every Summer, and stay in my friends log cabin. I love that area, definitely brings back some fond memories for me.

I think UHF goes under the category of a cult classic, which definitely fits this thread, as cult classic are usually followed by a small number of total fanatics.
