Question Why do most men carry their wallets in their back pocket??

It seems like most men carry their wallets in their back pockets, and this is something I've never understood. I would NEVER carry my wallet in my back pocket!!! You are so much more susceptible to getting it stolen when it's in your back pocket. There are many pick pocketers who are bold enough to steal wallets from a guys' back pocket, but I don't think there are many who would be bold enough to steal it from your front pocket for obvious reasons. To all the guys' who keep their wallets in their back pockets, I ask why?? It just seems more logical to keep it in your front pocket, because it's pretty unlikely that it'll get stolen when someone's looking you in the eye. This is something I've always been bewildered by, and if anyone can explain it to me, it would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I carry mine, in my left front pockey....i think its stupid to carry it in the back pocket- easier chance of somebody jacking you for it & stealing all of your identities, money etc. and your wallet itself. Sure if people wanted to and were crazy enough, they could attempt to steal your wallet from both pockets, but I prefer to carry it in my front pocket. My Dad always carries his in the back pocket of his jeans or pants. And Am I the only guy that actually keeps change in their wallet- instead of in their car or rolling around in their pants pockets??- lol.

And I agree with you Brad....it's so much more easier to get it taken from you, if you have it in your back pocket, instead of the front pocket like I do..

I agree with you both, but I have always carried my wallet in my back pocket. I am not to worried about getting ripped off because I am poor and a pick pocket wont get much from me. Then again my friends always tease me saying that because I am a big black man most people would be afraid of me LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

As a man, I couldn't give you an honest answer. I have always kept mine in my front, right pocket. No one would steal it without me seeing it first. I'm very paranoid. I'm always looking around me, being aware of my surroundings.

LOL - see - there's something to be said for stereotyping sometimes!!

I wouldn't have ANY idea since I'm a chick with a purse....but....
to me, wouldn't it be tough to sit down comfortably with a wallet in your front pocket? (especially a George Castanza special that's 5 inches thick?)

Also, wouldn't putting a wallet in the front pocket possible squish "Frank and The Boys"??

That being said, a big wallet in the front pocket of a big black man could really scare the bejeezus out of people!!! j/k

I'm a woman and I have wondered about that too. My uncle got pick pocketed years ago at a state fair and since then he carries his wallet in front pocket. I know a few guys who do the same.

I always keep mine in my front right pocket. I never understood why most keep it in the back pocket either. I'd be too worried of it falling out back there too. lol

I keep my wallet in my left back pocket (no I am not left-handed).
And always make sure it's there; but I would do that if I kept it in the front, too. I don't want to keep it in my left front pocket because it would be hard to reach my house and car keys.

I does fit kind of tight in the back so I would fall out easy.

Always had mine in the front left........just an old habit, while my keys and phone are in the front right.

I'm just glad I'm a woman and can keep all my stuff in a purse.

My husband said it's too get stolen too, worn in the back. I remember Seinfeld did a funny episode on George's wallet, that was about six inches thick, lol.
