At last count, my trade list was around 80 pages in Microsoft Word. My descriptions of movies and shows tend to be kind of wordy to say the least. I'm thinking the list is too long and tedious to get through and I would hate for someone to lose interest while reading. Should I shorten the list? I see that a lot of people just have basic lists of titles and maybe a disc count beside it. So I'm curious what kind of info do you like to see when reading a trade list?

I think having that large a list is great- I also have pages upon pages that tell sources, if it has menues, commericals etc-
And what I do is keep another list of just the titles/shows etc. I maintain both lists, keep adding to both- and I post the shortened version, of just titles- and when someone wants to inquire about a specific show, pull up the details, or share the very detailed list with them- via excel for example. But I don't post that on sites, for size limitations as well as it can make traders feel overwhelmed- I can't see you posting 80 pages HERE for example, but if you post the list of items, and I find 6 things I am curious about and write you I would want to see the full and puruse it at my leisure. I don't think you can have TOO many details, I just think you may want to post something smaller and more cleaned up, and let people ask you for more details when they need them, instead of making them wade through it all upon first sight. However, it tells me a lot about you as a trader, that you keep that well a list- it says to me you are informed, care about details and giving accurate information. |
