Any updates on this case?

This might be the first case where I found none of the people interviewed believable.

I lean more toward the ex-husband as being Roger's murderer.

You're thinking of the Danny Wheeler murder case. The suspects were his twin Sammy, his fiancee Pat Sneed, and her studly ex-husband, Bob Bean. I guess recently police closed this case after arresting a suspect and concluding it was a random act of violence.

Roger Wheeler was the wealthy Jai Alai guy who was executed in 1982 in Tulsa because of mob corruption by Whitey Bulger and his cronies.

That's right. Roger Wheeler was ordered killed by Whitey Bulger with an assist from his FBI handlers. The ex-FBI guy who was charged with complicity in his murder died before he could be brought to trial. Whitey is still at large.

I think, though, that Sammy was the murder victim, and his twin brother Danny was one of the suspects, although it turned out to be a random act of violence.

There are too many Wheeler cases on UM! Roger, Doyle, Sammy/Danny. It's not like it's that common a last name, right? Strange coincidence.

Speaking of the Roger Wheeler case (the Jai Alai president who was murdered in 1981 by John Martorano following the orders of Whitey Bulger, that was originally broadcasted as part of the 1st.special hosted by Raymond Burr, actually the second segment of the special after Donald Kemp's segment) in the last special hosted by Robert Stack before the proper beginning of Season 1, that was originally broadcasted on May 18th. 1988, after the segment of Louis Carlucci (without the update), there is a double update. The first one is the update of Robert Weeks, basically the same update that was given by Karl Malden in the third Special on September 24th. 1987, now said in voice over by Robert Stack with the additional footage of Weeks' trial and his sentence of 1st. Degree murder of Cynthia Jabour and Patricia Weeks. After this update, there is a second "strange" update on the Roger Wheeler's case, that mentions an individual by the name of Louis "Viaguyo" or something like that, that was watching the Wheeler segment with a friend, that unbeknownst by "Viaguyo" was a police informant. "Viaguyo" told his "friend" that the Police will never be able to pin the murder on him. Stack then mentions that "Viaguyo" skipped bail on a drug trafficking charge and has now dissapeared. After that a photo of "Viaguyo" is shown while RS gives his description.



I don't know if this "Viaguyo" character was eventually arrested and charged in connection with Wheeler's murder or if nothing came out of it. Here is the photo of Louis "Viaguyo" that was shown in the update:
