Default Random Inspirational Quotes

I know a lot of people on here are going through tests of faith or feeling down in general so i thought it'd be nice to start a thread with a collection of inspirational quotes where people can contribute to it as well as come back and visit upon it when they're down.

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

“Hope is such a marvelous thing.
It bends, it twists, it sometimes hides, but rarely does it break.
It sustains us when nothing else can.
It gives us reason to continue and courage to move ahead,
when we’d rather give in.

Hope puts a smile on our face when the heart cannot manage.
Hope puts our feet on the path when our eyes cannot see it.
Hope moves us to act when our souls are confused of the direction.
Hope is a wonderful thing, something to be cherished and nurtured,
and something that will refresh us in return.
And it can be found in each of us.
And it can bring light into the darkest of places.

Never lose Hope.”

Great idea PunkyPOWER! I love "collecting" inspirational quotes (I keep them in a special notebook) .

This is one of them:

"Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe". ~Gail Devers

"Having dreams is not stupid. It's not having dreams that's stupid." -I know Cliff said something like that on Cheers once.

"The nicest gift you can give somebody is the gift of time."

"You only get one shot out of life, so make the most of it."

My favorite quote comes from the Bible. It shows that God loves you no matter how short you are, no matter how fat you are, and no matter how you look. This verse almost brings me to tears, because it shows that our Creator isn't like Mankind, and judges based on what's inside, not on what's outside. for anyone who ever wonders if God truly loves them, and wonders am I pretty enough, or am I skinny enough, just read this verse, and I think you'll get your answer. It's your heart which defines you.

"Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature, for the Lord seeth not as man seeth, for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."

Another one of my favorite quotes.

"The greatest love a man can have, is to lay down his life for his friends." - Jesus Christ

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.

I know the thread specifies "inspirational" but is it okay to post quotes we find interesting as well? I have some inspirational quotes of my own that I can post but there are also others that I just like, but aren't really too inspirational - would it be okay to post them here as well?
