Please read the blog for the full story. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/20...-roseanne.html So a few shows totally gone (Three's Company, Hogan's Heroes, Green Acres), a few shows heavily reduced (M*A*S*H, 3rd Rock) and one show returns from the dead (Scrubs). Sort of reduced is Brady Bunch. Beaver is renewed!

Wow, you were serious about Roseanne. I hope that ..... ahem, the program is reduced quickly (Scrubs).

Scrubs is back. Hm.....TheLink said even that it bombed. What's the point? And 3rd Rock was reduced, no surprise there, same for Cosby.

Hogan's Heroes and Green Acres GONE? Wow. I would like to at least see them in the morning or from 1-2pm. And they renewed Beaver! That makes me so happy.

They'll probably end up making changes, reducing the Roseanne and changing late-nights.

- Great that Beaver is staying. I think the day the Cleavers are gone is the day that TV Land is officially no longer TV Land. I wonder for how long they renewed it?
- It's a few months off, but I'm going to go a head and predict that Green Acres will not be renewed and The Jeffersons will.
- Wow that primetime schedule is a headache. I'm glad I just primarily watch Weekday and Saturday mornings.
- Too bad about Three's Company. I don't really watch it on TV Land since I have the DVDs, but I like to see it is still on the schedule! It seems it would go well at noon after the Norman Lear block.

Primetime is utterly confusing indeed! They need to stick the one schedule. Have Andy Griffith from 7-9pm and Roseanne 9-11pm, and be done with it. And Roseanne 11pm-1am on most nights as well.

This would be better for weekdays and everything would be on but Star Trek and LHOTP (both on weekends):
9:00AM All in the Family
9:30AM Sanford and Son
10:00AM The Jeffersons
10:30AM Good Times
11:00AM Three's Company
11:30AM Brady Bunch
12:00PM Leave it to Beaver
12:30PM Green Acres
1:00PM Hogan's Heroes
1:30PM Beverly Hillbillies
2-5PM TV Land Goes West
5:00-6:00PM Beverly Hillbillies
6:00-8:00PM Andy Griffith Show
8:00-10:00PM Roseanne
10:00-11:00PM Cosby Show/Andy Griffith (rotating)
11:00-1:00AM Roseanne
1:00-2:00AM Cosby Show
2:00AM 3rd Rock from the Sun
2:30AM Scrubs
3:00AM M*A*S*H
3:30AM Sanford & Son
4:00AM The Jeffersons
4:30AM Good Times
5:00AM Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

I agree, that is a much better schedule. IMO they should do Beaver 5-6PM and Hogan's at 5:00AM and Green Acres at 5:30AM if they can't do that. Prime-time is a twisted, messy disaster. I'm sure that affects the ratings as well.

Pavan, just a question - what's with Scrubs coming back and at 3:30? That's pretty dumb since it can be seen at much better times on Comedy Central and WGN. I remember you said they would make it work no matter what...then it failed and they dumped it very fast. I think we've about seen the end of 3rd Rock, by it being pushed to the "dead" slot.
Also - you always said Three's Company was a success. What happened to it? Ratings?

I would love TC in the mornings or at least any time there is day light outside. I never quite understood why it never lasts anywhere outside of late night. I believe they tried to put it on in the early evenings, but that lasted a week or two. The last time I watched it regularly in the mornings was way back on TNN.

Scrubs is being shared with Comedy Central, so they didn't really "buy" it themselves, but they did want it to work. I think they need another show like that to make it work...it is too different from anything on TV Land. The same goes for EM: Home Edition.

Three's Company was always a big draw, but then the contract thing came up and they just left it on late nights...so I'm sure the ratings weren't too good then. I bet if they brought it back to primetime, it would do much better than most shows they air. It seems primetime is all about late 80s/90s now and Andy Griffith. Besides Cosby Show, the other stuff on TV Land PRIME has failed (Just Shoot Me, Scrubs, EM: Home Edition, etc). Not sure how the special airings of CSI and CSI NY did. They tried to plug The Jeffersons in PRIME on Thursdays and that didn't work. It seems to me they are trying to stay away from M*A*S*H in PRIME. I think Three's Company would be the only one to draw in prime outside of Andy Griffith, but I don't think they want to go that direction. It's all about 90s now in PRIME. In a few years Friends will be there.

I'm really surprised on weekdays, M*A*S*H is just 4am. No airings on Saturdays and only Sundays it has a decent slot of 9pm-12am.

Thanks for the insight (much better than we could expect from TheLink, lol).
PRIME seems to have been a failure but they are trying desperately to make it work. And killing the ratings for the whole channel in the process. I'm still not sure that Cosby was a big hit, seeing how it has been pushed back even later. They tried it from 8-9 and 12-1 and I don't think it lasted long. It's indisputable that they have high expectations for Roseanne....now, judging how Cosby did on NAN from 2002 until it was phased out, I thought it would be airing to death on TV Land - not so. That's what has me skeptical about Roseanne being such a smash. It did great for NAN from 2003 until it was pushed out by the newer shows (just like TCS)....and, IMO Cosby is even a better fit on TV Land than Roseanne. Can't imagine somebody staying over for Roseanne after Hillbillies and Andy. The whole thing is painful looking. That is just my comparison. Do you know how The Cosby Show did on TV Land?

If 8pm-1am/"prime time" was Andy, Good Times, Sanford and Son, Three's Company, and M*A*S*H, I'd bet a hundred bucks it'd do better. Ouch....Scrubs in to M*A*S*H - that hurts to even see on paper.

That's definitely a lot of Roseanne. I'm glad, though - I miss watching the show in primetime. If the schedule stays, whenever there's nothing on, I can just turn to TV Lnd for Roseanne. I bet its hours will be reduced slightly, though, but judging from how the show has done in the past, it could be the show to make PRIME a hit.

Julie - that's Roseanne heaven for a fan. I've never seen a show launch with so many timeslots! I agree that it will have to be reduced at some point...that's just too extravagant.

Aaron, we're talking about Scrubs on TV Land, lol.....it's already on Comedy Central multiple times..

It definitely is. I'm guessing most of its old NAN fans will follow it back over to TV Land, especially if they cross promote it. Really, all these slots look like a launch kind of thing. I think we'll see it reduced and settled into a more permanent slot by July.

Did they cross-promote Cosby's move to TV Land on NAN? We all know it wasn't that great performance-wise on TV Land.
Since TCS (which fits better on TV Land than Roseanne, IMO) didn't become a smash like it was on NAN, I don't expect the same for Roseanne. I am just thinking this logically and trying to be impartial...JMO.

Roseanne should be airing an hour then encore an hour later on in the night. Then, if it is a success, increase the airings.
