Is your family going for dinner, making her breakfest, and are you buying her a special gift? I always went all out for my mother Mother's Day and her birthday. They were her days. How about you?

No idea as of yet. I'll ask her what she wants to do, and we'll go from there!!

I'm not sure yet what we are doing that day. I'm sure it will all depend on if she's actually here....
I bought her a couple gifts and will be getting her a card very soon. The gifts include a plaque and a very cute pink stuffed teddy bear that is holding pink flowers. |

I'll probably go and visit my mom on Mother's Day. It'll be a bittersweet day for me and my husband - my mom is very sick and in a nursing home, and my husband's mom (who was loved by everyone, including me) died 2 years ago.
There really isn't much that I can give her that she would appreciate - she has no sense of smell or taste, so flowers, candy, etc. are out. Her room is so small - what she does have barely fits. Maybe I'll just give her a card. |

This has been a tradition going on about 10 years now. My family meets my 2 sisters and their families at our parent's house in the afternoon. Then us guys cook the meal, well, one of my brother-in-laws does all the cooking while the rest of us look busy(though I am known to toss a mean salad).
Also my mom likes to gather all the grandchildren together and take group pictures of them. Which has been providing me with entertainment the last few years watching my 2 nephews who are in their teens look extremely uncomfortable during this. Plus my wife enjoys it because it gives her an excuse to buy our daughter a new outfit. |

I'm going to buy her a card, some flowers, and some chocolates. then I'll probably take her out to dinner if I'm feeling better by then. I just want to keep busy, and not think about how Mother's Day is the one year anniversary of me getting dumped by my ex girlfriend. I'm going to try to keep the day about my mom because she's incredible, and deserves it.

My mom likes simple things, so I'll probably get her a special card and maybe have some flowers sent to her at work on Friday

Hmmmm, I don't know what the heck I'm gonna do yet... I'll probably just do some cool stuff like make a card, make dinner for her... maybe we could go on a walk together, go to a late movie... I don't know... I'll think of something.

our family is gathering at my brother and sister-in-laws house in the afternoon, and we'll have a lunch/tea for both my mother and my mother-in-law.
