Default The Future of DVD TV sets

Has anyone thought about where the model of DVD's is going? I think companies are turning a lot more to online content, which is maybe why the additional seasons will slow down.

Imagine having all of the seasons of the Jeffersons at the touch of our fingertips brought over broadband internet?.

I have no interest in watching seasons of the Jeffersons on the Internet. That's what the TV is for.

Cool

Having TV shows available to view online doesn't do any good for someone like me who lives outside the United States. Due to licencing issues 99.9% of that content is unavailable to me.

What made me think about it was that I was watching some episodes of hawaii 5-0 and Dynasty on in2tv, using a Home Theater PC.

I just assumed it would be available for international customers - sorry about that...

thats just it though...with an HTPC, or even an Xbox36o or Playstation connected to a TV, it looks normal. Many people are going this route. Since NetFlix and others are undertaking he electronic delivery route, it just kinda seems like the next step.

Much cheaper to produce for sure, and the companies dont have to worry about how many units sell before they decided to ship aniother season.
