Default Favorite Facts of Life Moments from the past 30 years?

Hey guys, this fall will mark 30 years since the debut of one of the most popular sitcoms of the 80's

The Facts of Life

The Facts of Life debut in the fall of 1979 as a spin-off of Diff'rent Strokes and it was Created by Dick Clair and Jenna McMahon the Creators of Mama's Family

The series aired for 9 seasons on NBC Primetime and mostly on Saturday Nights

We were introduced to such characters as Mrs. Edna Garrett, Blair Warner, Dorothy "Tootie" Ramsey, Natalie Green and Bad Girl Jo Polniaczek

It was also the series that made Legendary Stage Actress Charlotte Rae, Former Mouseketeer Lisa Whelchel, Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn and Nancy McKeon household names

and who could ever forget the 1st season of a young Molly Ringwald

and so, in honor of 30 years of the show

I would like to know:

What are your favorite Facts of Life Moments from the past 30 years?

Please share your favorites right here.

My favorite FOL moment would have to be when I started watching the reruns in December 2005 and just got hooked in the show. I was born in 1976 so I was very aware of the series when it was on NBC, but I only watched two or three episodes during its original run. I think as a kid I sort of looked at the show as being a girl's show.

My second favorite FOL moment would have to be in 2006 when Sony released the first three seasons onto DVD.

Wow, it's been 30 years . But how does Sony plan to celebrate? By giving us no DVD's .

Moving on to the topic, I have many favorite FOL moments. The first one is when I first got hooked onto FOL. It was in 2000, around the time it was rerunning on N@N. Actually, it was when it first started on N@N and they were having that week-long marathon to promote it (gah, I miss FOL marathons so much!). I saw all of the commercials for it and thought it sounded like a fun show to watch. In every one, they showed Natalie saying that line, "Who wants to be a skinny pencil? I'd rather be a happy Magic Marker," and from there I was hooked. I watched a few eps of the marathon with my mom and then I fell in love with it completely. I was eleven years old at the time and I remember being super-obsessed with the show, fun times .

Another FOL moment happened not long after that, when my mom had subscribed to Columbia House and every month, we would get a new tape of FOL episodes. My mom gave me the first tape as a present for my 12th birthday and I was the happiest 12-year old ever .

Then of course, getting the DVD's was another good moment. When seasons 1 and 2 came out, I made my mom take me to Best Buy right after school that day. I didn't want to risk going the next day and have them run out or anything . Same with season 3.

Absolutely the 2001 reunion movie. Agreed, Nancy wasn't in it, but to see Mrs. G. and the girls together again... to see the interactions... to learn what they have done with their lives... and to have fun with it all... that's what was great.

Also the reunion of Kim and Lisa on the Texas TV show when Kim was pregnant. You could tell she was thrilled to see Lisa again.

The reunion movie was awesome, although I did miss Nancy. I loved seeing everyone interact with each other and being together again. I also liked that it revolved around Natalie because she's my favorite character. But what was even more awesome than the movie was the 48 hour marathon they had of FOL on TV Land that same weekend . I don't think I moved from the living room couch that entire weekend . Also, the reunion movie came on not long after I became a fan of the show so this saved me from having to wait endless years for the reunion movie .

I saw that Lisa/Kim clip on YT over the summer. They looked so happy to see each other again and it made me happy too .

1. I liked the tribute that Kim did to FOL on Dancing With The Stars.

2. I also liked the Charlotte Rae 90th Birthday Party Celebration where most of them either showed up or sent in a video tape/live chat.

3. The 2011 TvLand Awards where they were all on stage together and when they did the interview.

It was amazing to see a recreation of the Dorm Common room set. Never thought we'd see that!

I was so thrilled that Molly took part! Molly, who wouldn't speak about the show for 30 years! Yet she still took part!
