Padres were down 7-1 in the fourth then the fifth get 2 runs back and made it 7-3.

Then in the 6th it was 7-5. Then in the 8th they jumped ahead to 8-7 even though they had bases loaded and could have and should have scored more runs.

No she's a Padres fan.....and talkin to me as a Phillies fan, and I went to the game tonight as well...

couldn't believe it...even some old guy, 84 years old fell before attempting to throw one of the ceremonial first pitches tonight at CBP lol...at least we remembered Harry The K, besides losing to SD...Heath Bell is a beasttt

Yeagh the Phillies don't lose too many games when leading at CBP 7-1. It was a surprising result

Yeah I agree. Oh well, I had a great time tonight in general, so even though I want them to win everynight or as much as possible, it's only 9 games into our season, out of 162 so I'm not worried at all over one measly loss lol. Although, a comeback like that should be taken care of in the future with good pitching. Madson needs control next time and Lidge always made it worst haha. He's always not as good when he pitches in the 9th, in a non-save situation. No emotions involved to get excited over an outing or inning on the mound to close it.

Harry Kalas' Public Viewing of his casket is at Citizen's Bank Park today, way before the game....I wish I could go but I can't, I went last night and they made a great tribute- their was a new Harry Kalas broadcast booth, they had his son sing the national anthem & his 3 sons throw out 3 of the ceremonial first pitches, to Mike Schmidt, John Kruk & Jimmy Rollins- all friends of HK. It was a great night and should be a tough day today for all our fans to say goodbye to this great man. All fans including myself also got a picture of Harry when they came to the ballpark last night. I will never forget him. RIP.

I think having the casket at home plate is a bit much. But everything else was great.

Excatly. And also, the Phillies have big bats all over the line up, we kinda don't. Other than Adrain Gonzalez.

I noticed that Kouz left like 5 left on base even though a few other players left a few on base too.

Well, the Padres network started airing the game at 4, so they didn't show the casket or anything like that. But the pre game show starts like 15 minutes before game time so I don't think they showed the viewing or anything like that.

They even had an Aflac Trivia question that I didn't realize...

What was so interesting about Harry Kalas and the 1980 World Series call? (Something to that effect.)

I missed the answer so posted for the answer to the question because I had missed it and the poster said something like he had no call. MLB rules prohibited home team in the WS to give the call.

Local announcers for teams couldn't even announce the deciding game of a world series, even on the radio back then. That rule was changed in 1983, 3 years after our 1980 WS championship. Since the WS has come into play, major station announcers have anounced on TV, the final call (FOX, ABC etc.) but now, for 26 years, on radio, the team up in the series' broadcaster, can announce it. So in 2008, Harry was finally allowed to call his team to winning it all. It was awesome & I'm glad the committee or whoever decides all of that, allowed local announcers to call it on the radio, and for Harry.
