"Bewitched" fans, you may soon have more than just a downtown statue to commemorate your favorite television witch, Samantha Stephens.

A "Bewitched" museum — complete with a bed-and-breakfast and an exact replica of both the set and the exterior of the Stephenses' house — could be in the works for the Witch City.

"When you walk in, it'll be like you just walked into an episode," said Mark Wood, who hopes to open the museum by summer 2010.

It's not quite a done deal. Wood, who lives in Los Angeles, was in town over the weekend touring some prospective downtown spots.

"I think I might have found something," said Wood, who declined to divulge the exact property.

Wood is more than just a casual fan. He was the longtime companion of Kasey Rogers, who played Louise Tate on the sitcom, and at one point knew many of the stars of the show.

As a result, he said he has lots of "Bewitched" memorabilia, including a portrait of Samantha featured on the show, personal effects of the show's actors and film footage of parties Wood and Rogers threw over the years.

Unlike another downtown museum — a Lizzie Borden exhibit — "Bewitched" does have an actual connection to Salem. The show filmed eight episodes here in the summer of 1970, shooting scenes at landmarks like the Hawthorne Hotel and "The House of the Seven Gables."

Awesome, I'm assuming it would be in the L.A. area? That would be a great Hollywood trip to beat all trips.

I have heard that there are several Bewitched bed & breakfasts in the US...to visit one of those would be awesome, too.
