Default TV shows that became cartoons

They don't seem to do this much any more (yes, I suppose 'thankfully' but back in the day [I'm talking early to mid 70s], there was a certain naive charm in the practice), but I was thinking about a few examples at work and thought I'd share them with you.

1) The Brady Bunch (The Brady Kids)
2) The Partridge Family (Partridge Family:2200AD)
3) Gilligan's Island (Gilligan's Planet)
4) All in the Family (Wait til Your Father gets Home, the Barkleys)
5) The Odd Couple (The Oddball Couple)

Anyone have any others?

Punky Brewster (It's Punky Brewster), and ALF (ALF: The Animated Series, later paired in a one-hour block with it's own spin-off titled ALF's Tales).

Laverne & Shirley

the Addams Family became not one, but two animated series

so did Gilligan--the other one was the New Adventures of Gilligan.

The Dukes Of Hazzard-The Dukes (1983)-At first, it starred the replacement characters of Coy and Vance since it was developed during that year Schnieder and Wopat walked off the show. When the Dukes returned for 11 more episodes later in '83, the originals Bo and Luke replaced them.

The Original Star Trek-(1972-73)- All of the original actors voiced their characters. Leonard Nimoy threatened to walk unless the original actros got to voice their characters. Chekov wasn't included, but Walter Koenig wrote an episode.

Sabrina: The Teenage Witch spun off a cartoon series, where Sabrina was voiced by Mellisa Joan Hart's younger sister. 'course, there was a cartoon series before that so this might be a case of cartoons becoming TV shows.

"THE FLINTSTONES" was loosely based on "THE HONEYMOONERS"(in fact Jackie Gleason was going to sue over it, but his lawyer talked him out of it)

"TOP CAT" was loosely based on "SGT. BILKO".

Glad you mentioned these because Wait Till Your Father Gets Home was very loosely based on All in the Family. Other than that there's no connection between the 2 shows.

Sorry, but there was never a cartoon show based on Family Ties. You
might be thinking of the cartoon version of the movie Back to the Future..

The following live-action shows did all have cartoon counterparts:

Time for Beany (Beany & Cecil)
The Lone Ranger (two versions)
Tarzan
Zorro (two versions)
The Brady Bunch (The Brady Kids)
Lassie (Lassie's Rescue Rangers)
My Favorite Martian (My Favorite Martians)
I Dream of Jeannie (Jeannie)
The Addams Family (two versions)
Emergency! (Emergency + Four)
Star Trek
Gilligan's Island (New Adventures of Gilligan, Gilligan Planet)
Partridge Family (Partridge Family: 2200 A.D.)
The Odd Couple (The Oddball Couple)
Isis (Secrets of Isis)
Laugh-In (Baggy Pants & the Nitwits)
Happy Days (Fonz & the Happy Days Gang)
Laverne & Shirley (Laverne & Shirley in the Army)
Mork & Mindy
Dukes of Hazzard (The Dukes)
The Muppet Show (Muppet Babies)
Punky Brewster (It's Punky Brewster)
ALF (ALF and ALF Tales)
Tales From the Crypt (Tales From the Cryptkeeper)
Sabrina the Teenage Witch (Sabrina, the Animated Series)

Also: the following shows were at least influenced by earlier live-action series ...
The Flintstones (The Honeymooners)
Top Cat (Sergeant Bilko)
Calvin & the Colonel (Amos 'n' Andy)
The Jetsons (Blondie)
Scooby-Doo (Dobie Gillis)
The Barkleys (All in the Family)
Casper and the Angels (Charlie's Angels)

Although they never became series, animated pilots for the following shows aired on The ABC
Saturday Superstar Movie
:
Nanny and the Professor ("Nanny and the Professor," "Nanny and the Phantom Circus")
Gidget ("Gidget Makes the Wrong Connection")
Bewitched ("Tabitha and Adam and the Clown Family")
That Girl ("That Girl in Wonderland")
Lost in Space
The Munsters ("The Mini-Munsters")
Also: "Luvcast U.S.A." was influenced by Love, American Style.

I heard that they were planning a FT cartoon but the idea was nixed by the cast as being a dumb idea. There was also a cartoon version of Shazam that featured the the Marvel family.
