Porn legend Marilyn Chambers, known for her enthusiastic adult film performances -- including several with other women -- passed away over the weekend. She was 57.

Chambers was discovered by her daughter McKenna in the mobile home where she had been living for the past several months, according to Media Bistro. No cause of death was given, but an autopsy is expected.

Chambers is best known for her performances in adult films including Behind the Green Door and Insatiable. In the mid ’90s, Chambers hosted the late night, soft core Cinemax series Bedtime Fantasies.

Chambers was arrested in a strip club raid in the mid ’80s in San Francisco during then mayor Dianne Feinstein’s bid to clean up the city’s strip joints. Chambers was in the middle of a nude performance.

Prior to rising to fame as an adult film star, Chambers was featured as the model on the Ivory Snow box and had a brief role in the Barbra Streisand pic The Owl and the Pussycat. Chambers also threw her name in the ring as a vice-presidential candidate for the Personal Choice Party in 2004 and 2008.

Wow 57 - that is young. It probably was her heart, but it will be interesting to hear what the autopsy says.

Hard to think of that squeaky clean young girl on the box to become a porn star. She sure was beautiful though.

More Tests Needed To Determine Cause Of Porn Star's Death

An autopsy has failed to determine the cause of porn star Marilyn Chambers' death.

The Behind The Green Door star was found dead at her home in Canyon County, California on Sunday.

Ed Winter, the Los Angeles County coroner’s assistant chief, has ruled the actress probably died of natural causes, but additional testing would be required.

An autopsy has confirmed porn star Marilyn Chambers died after suffering complications related to heart disease.

The Behind The Green Door star was found dead at the age of 56 in her California home on 12 April.

The Los Angeles County coroner's office ruled the actress died of natural causes but preliminary testing failed to find the exact cause.

Subsequent toxicology tests have determined Chambers fell victim to a cerebral hemorrhage and aneurysm related to heart disease.

The painkiller hydrocodone and the antidepressant Citalopram were also found in the star's bloodstream but not in lethal amounts.
