Default Who Will Buy Season 8 and What Does Owning the Whole Show Mean to You?

I, of course, plan to buy the final season tomorrow. I'm very excited about owning the whole show.

The series finale is one of my favorite series finales ever. I'm also glad that it's in it's full hour form.

I used to tape "Wings" off of USA back in 2000. I got a lot of the episodes on tape, but only a handfull of season 8 episodes. So this will be the first time I have all the episodes in my collection. And this time, they're uncut. The quality isn't 100 percet great, but it's definately better than my old tapes.

I think I'll have a mini marathon of the show leading up to my purchase of the final season tomorrow. The first episode I'm gonna watch is the two-part finale.

I remember when we all wondered why certain shows were on DVD but not "Wings." And now, we'll finally have all of "Wings" on DVD. This means four out of my five favorite sitcoms will be complete. The list changes from time to time, but currently my favorite five are: NewsRadio, Wings, Taxi, Andy Richter Controls the Universe and Ellen. Taxi is the only one not complete... dang it!

i've actually been holding out and waiting for a complete series boxset on this show - or just to see if they'll blow out the original sets so I can pick them up real cheap.

I really enjoyed the show, but i've never seen most of the final season and have no idea how it ends.

I got the Final Season in the mail today and I've already watched the first 3 episodes. It's great to finally have all of the Seasons on DVD. I'm ashamed to admit this, but I didn't start buying Wings Season sets until August 2007, when I bought Seasons 1 & 2, more than a year after it had been released. I think the reason why it took me so long to start buying the sets is because I had all the episodes on tape and had seen them many times, so there wasn't a lot to look forward to. Plus, I heard the picture quality was awful. I knew I would buy this show eventually and when I did, I was surprised to find out that the picture quality on the first couple of Seasons wasn't too bad, at least not to me. But the most important thing is ALL of the episodes are uncut, which is amazing when you realize CBS/Paramount is putting out the sets. They have butchered and edited the heck out of some of my favorite shows like Odd Couple, Bosom Buddies and Cheers and also many other shows, yet none of the Wings season sets seem to have any cuts at all (I'm 99% sure about that). So though it sorta sucks that there aren't any extras, having all the episodes uncut more than makes up for that.

The Final season of Wings is my least favorite of all the seasons, but there are a couple of episodes that I consider true classics, including the series finale which IMO is one of the best series finales ever. Of course my opinion may change. That tends to happen a lot whenever I watch a show with a season I'm not too fond of, on DVD for the first time.

Default A little bummed...

..which is silly!

I got my little shipping notice yesterday and hated seeing "final season" in the title.

It's my least favorite season as well. When the second house fire happened at the end of S7, I thought, gimme a break, this is ridiculous, and I wasn't committed to catching the show anymore.

So I missed a couple episodes when it was still airing, which means I've something "new" to look forward to if I didn't catch it in reruns since then. But I'm still bummed it's over!

I haven't seen most of the Season 7 and Season 8 episodes, and I'm holding out a bit before buying them, I don't even know why, I might just pick them up next week..

I'm not wasting my money on the last two seasons, unless I buy the complete box set.
