Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are expecting their first child together, a source close to the couple confirms exclusively to PEOPLE. "They're very excited," says the source, adding that the actress is due in the fall.

Gellar, who has been married to Prinze for six years, will next shoot the HBO pilot The Wonderful Maladays, for which she serves as an executive producer. Prinze recently shot the comedy pilot No Heroics for ABC.

Not only is this good news for Freddie Jr. I have noticed an obsene jump on hits lately at the Freddie site since the news broke. More and more people are discovering and redicovering Freddie Sr. I have seen numerous hits on my website server statisics way more then normal. I average around 50 a day. Yesterdays visitor count was 222. Right now my count is at 57. So thank you Freddie for sending good vibes to your son and to Freddie Jr congrats on the news of your soon to be son or daughter arriving in the fall.
