why did Carol feel the need to call a employment agency for a one week replacement for Alice (when they thought Alice and Sam were eloping)? for one freakin week?????? Gee, was she too lazy to do the cooking or get the kids to pitch in--when they WAY old enough to do their own clothes, fix meals, help pick up around the house!!!

I don't know but she must have been lazy but maybe she realized that Alice would eventually leave after the kids graduate or before Bobby and Cindy do.

She couldn't be lazy once Alice left or she and Mike would have starved.
