Wow, Wrestlemania 25 is approaching later this month and I didn't know WWE still had appeal.

So who is wrestling? Rodney Piper? Big Jake Studd? Timmy Snuka? Deondre the Giant??

LOL, who the hell is in the WWE?-lol

I'm just surprised it's still popular because back in the early 90's the NWA was the wrestling everyone watched not WWF. Maybe Vince McMahon made some over the Years

NWA? By the early 90s, that was a mediocre organization with bad ownership. They USED to be good, but shot themselves in the foot.

Besides, they didn't have a good TV contract.

You watched WWF during the 83-87 era right? Just curious to know how to remain a fan once the Original wrestlers all retired?

It's more about the story telling than anything else. I know this sounds cheesy, but it is like a male soap opera.

Yes but the NWA through an ownership change morphed into WCW which for a while there did surpass the WWE in ratings.(remember the Monday night wars?)

True, but before WCW turned things around, they were a mess.

WCW had the momentum in the mid-90's with the nWo, but WWF/E overtook them with the Stone Cold Steve Austin/ Mr. Mcmahon feud. Soon, WCW was so badly mismanaged and lost so much money that they eventually had to sell to Vince, and that was that.

As for WrestleMania, I too will be watching this Sunday.

Except for a few moments, The promotion was a shambles after Jim Crockett sold out to Ted Turner. Once it became WCW it started on a slow spiral downhill toward crappiness which escalated when Eric Bischoff was put in charge. It's too bad you weren't around to experience the NWA when it was worth watching, The stuff from your era and WCW doesn't even compare.
