Movie "Clash of the Titans" Remake *Look at Transforming Medusa*

Bond Stars Team Up In Titans Remake
1 April 2009 5:15 AM, PDT

Quantum Of Solace star Gemma Arterton is turning her back on Bond to team up with 007 villain Mads Mikkelsen - they have both signed on to star in the remake of classic film Clash Of The Titans.

Arterton and Mikkelson, who have both starred opposite Daniel Craig in the Bond franchise, have joined Australian actor Sam Worthington in the new movie, a fantasy tale of Greek Gods, mystical creatures and epic battles.

Mikkelson will play Draco, a fearless warrior, while Brit Arterton will take on the part of Io, a love interest of the movie's protagonist Perseus.

The original film, released in 1981, starred Ursula Andress, Sir Laurence Olivier and Dame Maggie Smith.

But Arterton has promised the 2010 version will take the story in a completely new direction.

She says, "The script is very different.

"Obviously the story is the story, but it's much more about Perseus' mission, and how he deals with being the son of Zeus, and things like that, so it feels a little more about him, and about the issues around that."

I'll see it! I love the original movie, but the claymation thing could really use some updating.

On the other hand, another remake. Yet more proof that there is no creativity in Hollywood. Remake sequel remake sequel remake sequel.

What is better clamation or CGI? LOL. All we're going to get really is better cinematography.

First Official Look at Clash of the Titans Remake
Tuesday, June 2, 2009
By: MrDisgusting

Beyond the break you can check out the first ever photo of Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation) as Perseus in Clash of the Titans, Warner Bros. Pictures' remake of the classic from 1981 that features the ultimate struggle for power that pits men against kings and kings against gods. I can only imagine how cool the new Medusa will be after seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 2.

Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

Oh no. That is not how I remember the movie. And Worthington looks like he's still in Terminator - with an older weapon Something tells me this is going to be baaaaaaaaad.

First Hi-Res Stills of Perseus in Clash of the Titans
Friday, June 5, 2009
By: MrDisgusting

Beyond the break you can check out two pretty awesome hi-res images of Sam Worthington as Perseus from Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ The Clash of the Titans, the reboot of the classic film also starring Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton, Alexa Davalos, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Izabella Miko and Danny Huston. In the film directed by Louis Leterrier, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world.

See Medusa in Clash of the Titans Trailer Debut!!!
Tuesday, November 10, 2009
By: MrDisgusting

OMG, OMFG! Beyond the break you'll find the first official trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures' Clash of the Titans remake, which stars Sam Worthington, Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton, Alexa Davalos, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Izabella Miko and Danny Huston.

I'm a huge fan of the original film and am not at all turned off by them remaking this classic story of man vs gods. If anything, this epic adventure could turn heads with CG and the visual effects of today. Count me in! What do you guys think of the footage?

First Clash of the Titans One Sheet!
Wednesday, December 9, 2009
By: MrDisgusting

March 26 can't come soon enough as Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans remake arrives in theaters thanks to Warner Bros. Pictures.

Looking like a mix between 300 and something far cooler (trailer), the film pits men against kings and kings against gods in the struggle for ultimate power.

Those familiar with the original will remember one of the most important plot devices... the infamous snake-headed Medusa.

Today WB released the first official one sheet that teases the grand finale featuring said "head".

Sunday, December 13, 2009
By: MrDisgusting

I personally have been excited for Warner Bros. Pictures' Clash of the Titans, but I had no idea just how pumped you guys are. The first trailer and one sheet debut were incredibly well received here in the site.

While both teased Medusa, we've now got our hands on the second trailer that leaked online this weekend and features your first full body look as Medusa, alongside the Cracken!

In addition to the trailer, beyond the break you'll find the three one sheets unwatermarked and hi-res from Louis Leterrier's remake starring Sam Worthington, Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton, Alexa Davalos, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Izabella Miko and Danny Huston.

What do you think of the new trailer?

The Gods Be Damned! 5 Awesome New Clash of the Titans Posters!
Friday, February 5, 2010
By: MrDisgusting

It's a virtual freak show!

See the Kraken, the three Blind Witches, Zeus, Pegasus, Scorpioch and many more in 5 brand new character posters for Warner Bros. Pictures' Clash of the Titans, which is being converted to 3D for its forthcoming April 2 release.

I'm pretty sure I'd hang all of these on my walls -- assuming the movie is good. I'll shake my fist towards the sky and blame Zeus if it isn't.

http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/18995

1. "Release the Kraken!"

Holy Kraken!
Poseiden clearly doesn't have a dental plan.

2. "We Three Witches"

The eye! Give us THE EYE!
Behold the three, disgusting, slobbering, Stygian Witches!

3. "The Golden Boy"

Worthington, Arterton, Angry-Faced Guy, Wood- Faced Guy (aka Sheik Suleiman), and a Bronzed Pegasus charge into battle against the Scorpioch.

4. "Zeus & Hades Gots Da Blues"

Ralph Fiennes as Hades. Liam Neezon as Zeus.
You don't want to mess with beards like these.

5. "Scorpioooooch"

This just in: 'The Scorpioch unleashes his rage against ancient Greece'.
Sam Worthington not pleased.

Behold Medusa and Her Head of Snakes!!
Thursday, February 11, 2010
By: MrDisgusting

We've seen her head (in the poster), we've seen her back (in the trailer) and now you'll get the best look yet at the famed Medusa from Warner Bros. Pictures' Clash of the Titans, thanks to BD reader 'Alan H.'.

The image was scanned from a UK magazine called "Shortlist" and features Sam Worthington as Perseus attacking the snake-headed mythological creature.

The fantasy/thriller/action/horror film (it's pretty much every genre) will now arrive in theaters April 2 in 3-D. Read on for the image.

"Perseus hopes to charm some snakes..."

A Crazy Clean Look at a Transforming Medusa in Clash of the Titans!
Saturday, February 27, 2010
By: MrDisgusting

Don't get me wrong, I love, love, love everything about the original Clash of the Titans, but we all know one of the coolest aspects of the movie is Medusa and how she's used as a device in the grand finale.

While you've seen her backside in the trailer and her decapitated head on the first one sheet, now you'll get a clear look at the mythological character transforming. Yep, you heard right. You'll find that and more by reading on.

Directed by Louis Leterrier, Warner Bros. has slated the film for release in 3D on April 2nd.
