‘Cosby Show’ Marks 25 Years With Box Set, Fresh Ad Campaign

Carsey-Werner is celebrating the 25th anniversary of “The Cosby Show” with a new ad campaign and DVD box set of the suburban comedy.

Starting this fall, stations airing “Cosby” in syndication will receive a new on-air marketing campaign, as well as online clips of memorable scenes and a 90-minute special free of charge entitled “The Cosby Show: A Look Back.”

“The continued strength of ‘The Cosby Show’ is truly remarkable and, I believe, unprecedented,” said Jim Kraus, president of Carsey-Werner Television Distribution.

“Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner recognized early on that comedy that was based on family would remain funny and relevant for years, easily withstanding the test of time,” he added.

Carsey-Werner also will be releasing an eight-season DVD box set of all 201 “Cosby” episodes, including a new one-hour interview with Bill Cosby about the creation and execution of the show.
