I was reading a Cosmopolitian magazine, and there was an article on what men don't want from thier girlfriends.....
1. They don't want a girl that talks bad about her ex..... because either it proves she's not over her ex, or if her and her current boyfriend break up, she might trash him9the currnet boyfriend) to her NEW boyfriend..... 2. They don't want a girl who always agrees with them, because that hints that she has no resolve, and any other boy might take her away nfrom her currnet bf if she doesn't have a resolve. 3. They don't want her too be too sweet, because sooner or later, she begins to get annoying or starts reminding him of his little sister, who he does NOT want to date. 4. A girl who is dependent and clingy turns him off very quickkly, because he then becomes her "savior", more than her boyfriend. He does NOT want to have to take care of a grown ass woman.......... |

How are any of those things surprising?

i would think that most guys (and girls too for that matter) wouldn't want to be with someone that talks at all about their ex - not just the bad stuff.

I wouldnt dare insult a girlfriend (or any other female) by comparing them to the last few ex girlfriends I had.

Now...for three reasons why I married my husband:
1. He knows that E,S,P and N aren't the only letters in the alphabet. 2. He doesn't like to spend six hours in the bathroom grooming and putting on colonge like David Beckham, then getting upset because he can't dress like Kanye West. and 3. His idea of "TV Night" includes watching Dragnet, Adam-12 and Emergency on Hulu.com. |

...and then avoid touchy subjects like religion, politics, sports and breakfast cereals - unless you already know and agree with the other person's point of view. |

I speak for myself here; not many guys like to hear about the ex. It makes you feel like you have expectations to live up to and shoes to fill. Compliments can also turn around very quickly, like saying "Well my ex never behaved like you are now..." or "at least my ex knew what I wanted..." Best to leave any mention of your ex's (good or bad) out of current relationships. They are over and out of the picture and you have moved on. |

James and Sarah, you both seem to be right. Cosmopolititian magazine says the only thing you should be saying about your ex to your boyfriend is "Jack who?" If Jack is your ex boyfriend as if you have completely forgotten about your ex or dont even care about him anymore.
