Yep - it was Planet of the Apes (the original 1974 tv series). I bought it in 2003 when it was first released.

I don't recall exactly the first one I purchased, but I do recall that one of the first was that first release of "Dynasty" from FOX (and we all know how well that went). I'm in the process of renting the second season's worth (and first Paramount release).

The very first TV show on DVD that I bought was the original release of SportsNight from Buena Vista.

I'm not toally sure which was the first I bought. I know the first set I ever got was a birthday gift back in 2004. It was Land of the Lost season one. Than that Christmas I won a gift card and bought Punky Brewster season one & Diff'rent Strokes season one I think. I think the first set I ever bought paid for with my own money was Mork & Mindy season one.

Cool. When I first started buying tv on dvd (and still to this day) I wanted to buy the shows I enjoyed when I was young and haven't seen in years. I enjoyed Punky S1 so much that I got S2 after that and and have all 4 seasons.
