Movie Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 To Depart Even More From Original

Fans of John Carpenter’s classic Halloween were horrified by Rob Zombie’s remake, but not in a good way. Instead of being spooked by the new version of the film, they were traumatized by bizarre changes Zombie made, including a ridiculous amount of time spent showing a younger Michael Myers, seemingly justifying his horrendous killing spree later in the film.

I guess Zombie didn’t learn from fan criticism this time around, because he’s making even more changes for the sequel. H2: Halloween 2 will be devoid of any hint of the original Halloween theme music created by Carpenter. ”We’re going to have to find a really sort of dissident ambient score,” Zombie told MTV Movies Blog. “[Something] unsettling rather than the traditional score which seemed too grand and too musical.”

Along with changing the classic movie, Zombie is making substantial changes to his characters as well. Basically, everyone has gone a little crazier. ”Really the movie is all about people who have kind of gone crazy, and they’re all dealing with their with their insanity in different ways. Laurie was the withdrawn character, and now she’s sort of the outgoing crazy character. Annie was more outgoing, now she’s very much almost like agoraphobic, afraid to leave the house. Sheriff Brackett is a wreck, looks he’s like one year from retiring so he can just go to the funny farm. Dr. Loomis is in complete denial about everything, and exploiting the situation and making as much money as possible while hating himself.” Of course, with everyone else going insane, that only leaves room for Myers to go even crazier than ever.

You know, in a way I am glad Rob is doing his own spin on this. Who wants to see an exact copy of the original series? What would be the point of that?

If Rob does the same thing here like he did with House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects; the sequel might actually be good.

I may be in the minority, but his version of Halloween wasn't that bad.

For me I'd put it in the "not bad but not great" category. I did enjoy it for what it was but it's still no masterpiece.

I didn't enjoy the first one, but I will be giving the sequel a chance. Even though I'm sure it's a cameo, I'm excited to see Caroline Williams in a film again.

It's great to see Caroline Williams back in action again.

I know her from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and Leprechaun 3. The Leprechaun series is pretty stupid though.
