It has been said that Cousin Itt was only on the TV show. But I've seen a creature (wiht the specs even!) that looks like him, on the cover of a Charles Addams book, along with the rest of the family.

Yes, I have that same book (Monster Rally, which was first published, by Simon & Schuster, in 1950). By the way, none of the characters had
names in the cartoons; those were invented for the 1964 television series.
