Default Early Bird or Night Owl?

Are you an early bird or a night owl? Or somewhere in between?

I get up early when I need to (for a nine o'clock class I've got up at around 5 a.m. to catch an early bus into Cambridge and to get some stuff done before the class. But generally, I tend to stay up late. It's rare for me to go to bed before 12:30 a.m.

The longest I've ever stayed up (and I don't stay up this late regularly) is about 4 a.m.

When I was in college, I used to stay up all night, go to my 8am class, then come home and sleep. My bedtime was 9:45am for an entir semester. My sister used to call me at 4am and I'd be wide awake. If she called at 11am I'd yell at her for waking me up!

But that was a few years ago, now I have to get up early during the week. But by nature, I'm definately a night owl.

Night owl. In less than a week, I went back to going to sleep after 3am and not waking up until after noon. I'll be in bad shape on Monday when I have to wake up at 7am for work.

Normally, I just cannot go to bed before 1am. I hate it, but that's me.

Well I use to be a night owl. Having a little one changes all of that. Now I wake up about 5-7 am every morning.

Somewhere in between. Although I can get up early if I have to, and stay up late (also if I have to, but it's getting harder to do the latter)--I'm basically at my best from about 8:30am until about 5pm. I feel the most energetic, creative and productive during these times. I'm usually in bed by ten (with some exceptions). Staying up late I will do mostly on Friday and Saturday nights, or if I go to an event, a wedding or something, but try to sleep in or take a nap the next day to make up for the lost sleep. I remember in college staying up pulling a few all nighters to get papers done, or studying, but I don't think I could do that anymore without it taking a toll on my health.
