This is far too common. The sad part is the teens learn this from home and what they see their parents do. If a teenage girl sees her mom being abused, she'll think that's how she's supposed to be treated. If a teenage boy sees this, he thinks it's how a man is supposed to treat a woman. Nothing good ever comes out of this.
