Default Hallmark & WE episodes

I need to look back at some of my old VCR tapes, but I'm thinking that both Hallmark and WE are using the same episodes that were edited for syndication in the early 90s that played on local stations. I watched some episodes on We this afternoon and they seemed to be exactly what Hallmark had.

The scenes that are being cut out seem to be the same ones I remember in syndication. Lifetime brought back some of the cut out scenes choosing to edit lines out in order to cut the episodes while keeping in most of the scenes.

If you can tolerate the cut scenes, there sure is plenty of Golden Girls running right now with 2 hours of a morning on Hallmark from 8am-10am ET, then one hour at 4pm ET, two hours from 5-7pm ET on WE and then two more hours from 11pm-1am ET on Hallmark. Neither channel airs the show on weekends. Since Golden Girls left Lifetime, I haven't even had that channel on.

I agree, what we are seeing are the old syndication edits used on local stations from 1990-1996. These are actually the old edits that I grew up on. I had these edits so memorized that I knew every new scene Lifetime left in.

...with the exception of the original Season 1 opening now being shown, that was never shown on Lifetime or in the 90s syndication.

I have not even viewed Wifetime at all since GG left the channel, except for a few minutes of Desperate Housewives.
Another scene the Hallmark cut was when Dorothy flashed back to visiting Stan's mother. They chopped when Stan and Dorothy first entered and started right where Stan's mother walked in and said "here's your tea" ...
Why on EARTH can't they show the entire episode anyway? Why all the chopping and hacking? I know...so they can squeeze in 2 or 3 more commercials but I think it's a ripoff. Some of us are paying well over 50 bucks a month for cable...I don't think we're getting our money's worth!

Yeah I know. The editting is ridiculous. Since I grew up watching Golden Girls on Saturday nights on NBC, I know it better than most sitcoms. Most other shows, I can't tell you what is editted out, but with Golden Girls I do. It used to drive me nuts how Lifetime had lines cut out I knew were in the episodes.

The Hallmark Channel airs The Girls on the weekend in the morning. I also have not watched lifetime since the show switched networks.

I have a question, GG was aired at 4:00 - 5:00 here in the Eastern Time Zone, but now it's replaced by Mash. Does anyone know why Hallmark removed GG????

I wasn't aware that Hallmark changed the times, I just now found out that it's on at 6:00 - 7:00 in the Eastern Time Zone. I kind of miss it being on at 4:00 - 5:00 on Hallmark, then at 5:00 - 7:00 on WE. I could watch my all time favorite show for 3 straight hours.
