There were 435 episodes made. Because TV seasons ran so long back then, few shows were repeated, unlike today where the entire season's shows can be replayed before the next season begins. My understanding is that about half were put into syndication and an additional 100 or so episodes were shown on the Disney channel. That leaves around 123 episodes or just under 9 per season that have never been broadcast as of their original date. For lack of a better term I call them the "lost" episodes.
So, just which episodes are among that mysterious group (the "holy grail" if you want). Based upon the episodes I have and what others' have mentioned as available, that I have read on here and other sites - here are the episodes from the first season that I cannot find reference to being available. The Poet -episode 2 Harriet's Hairdoo - episode 11 (not to be confused with Hairstyle for Harriet from season 5) Newspapaer Write-up -episode 14 Stop Worrying -episode 16 Night School - episode 31 If anyone can show that any of these episodes are available, please share. Also, please add any shows from the other seasons that you believe are "lost". |

There are different titles sometimes from different sites, so it can get hard to figure out the episodes. I have just over 200 episodes and still have a hard time figuring out which episodes are which. Some of the titles are aso confusing such as the Hairdo episodes. I am going to try once again to get mine in some kind of order, but i don't know how sucessful I'll be.

I have been collecting O&H episodes for a relatively short time and have the good fortune to have encountered other collectors who have been at it for over 25 years.
If I understood correctly from one of those collectors, the ''lost'' Disney episodes are the ones with the 1987 date at the end of the show, and they are uncut. The original package episodes are the ones with the 1985 and are the shorter length edited episodes. There are 67 titles that seem to never show up on anyone's trade list. I have seen descriptions for some of those episodes and have DVD's with Ricky singing songs from other episodes. This gives me hope that they are actually out there somewhere, but just haven't turned up yet. Below are the ''missing'' 67 episodes. If anyone has any of these titles, I would love to know. 2: The Poet 10/10/1952 11: Harriet's Hairdo 12/12/1952 14: The Newspaper Write-Up 1/2/1953 16: Stop Worrying 1/16/1953 31: Night School 5/1/1953 46: The Painter 5/28/1954 47: No Noise 10/30/1953 48: The Hustler 11/6/1953 62: David's Career 2/12/1954 77: A Tuxedo for David 5/21/1954 78: Operation Economy/Economical Ozzie 6/4/1954 85: The Furnace 10/22/1954 87: Ricky's Charge Account 4/22/1955 95: The Electric Train 2/4/1955 96: Career Woman 2/18/1955 97: The Girl Who Came to Dinner 2/25/1955 98: The Sportscar 3/11/1955 107: The Stray Dog 5/27/1955 112: Watching Thorny's House 2/24/1956 113: Wedding Rings 12/2/1955 115: Carnation Perfume 10/21/1955 119: The Campers 10/28/1955 121: The Gay Blade 12/9/1955 122: Re-Dressing Ricky 6/8/1956 125: Personal Column 3/9/1956 127: The Gadget 1/6/1956 128: Art Studies 1/13/1956 133: Christmas in October 10/24/1956 138: Sculpturing Class 4/24/1957 143: Hidden Panel 10/17/1956 144: Fifty Dollar Bill 11/7/1956 145: The Disbelievers 2/27/1957 157: The Hot-Dog Stand 2/13/1957 158: The Loan 6/26/1957 159: Ozzie and Harriet Go to Washington 162: The Clubhouse 3/6/1957 164: The Tommy Brannigan Story 4/17/1957 166: Ricky's Surprise Party 5/8/1957 167: Night Watchman 5/15/1957 169: Strict Parents 5/29/1957 170: The Coffee Table 6/5/1957 171: The Fishing Lure 6/12/1957 173: The Boys Land in Jail 10/23/1957 - Have 2 songs from this episode 184: Ricky Goes on TV 12/25/1957 203: The International Set 5/28/1958 212: Darby, the Rockhound 6/3/1959 213: Stealing Rick's Girl 10/29/1958 214: Helpful Neighbor 12/17/1958 - 2 songs from this episode on ''Ricky Sings'' DVD 230: Ozzie Changes History 3/11/1959 233: The Other Guy's Girl 4/8/1959 240: The Girl in the Bowling Alley 5/27/1959 242: Ozzie, the Host 10/14/1959 243: Taking Advantage of Harriet 6/10/1959 247: The Rancher's Daughter 11/4/1959 248: Who Needs Girls 10/28/1959 249: Happy Anniversary 12/9/1959 326: Operation Barry 2/15/1962 330: Lending Money to Wally 3/8/1962 - Often confused with another episode 332: Barry's Birthday 4/12/1962 336: Rick and the Sculptress 10/18/1962 345: The Women's Club Play 11/8/1962 346: The Goat 2/28/1963 ???: Game Inventors 12/27/1962 350: Rick and the Boat Model 1/3/1963 351: The Girl at the Ski-Lodge 1/17/1963 382: Rick is Late for Dinner 3/25/1964 420: The Hong Kong Suit 2/5/1966 |

Episode #144, The fifty dollar bill, is this the episode where Ozzie gives David $50 when he reaches Ozzie's height?
Eposide #184, Ricky Goes On TV, this sounds familar, maybe the episode where Ricky and Wally transmit tv from the basement? |

"Ricky Goes on TV" is not the one where they transmit from the basement, that is "Closed Circuit" an extremely common episode. |

if 330: Lending Money to Wally, is often confused with another episode. I probably have it wrong. I was thinking that was the episode where where Wally get money from the frat guys and starts his own business selling sandwhiches from 'Wally's Wagon' Oh gosh I haven't seen this one is SO long. The details are fuzzy to me. But Rick sings Little Miss Tease and one other song at the end of the show to try to sell the rest of the sandwhiches. So what episode is that one?
The episode Honeybea described sounds really familiar. I'm pretty sure I don't have that one though. |

How did a master list of episodes come about to be distributed around the net? Where do 'they', whoever 'they' are get a master list?

Christmas In October seems to be the only holliday episode left that's not "out there". If the season sets were just released, we wouldn't be having this problem of confusing episode titles.

I found a site that has 76 radio episodes of O&H. One of them called Electric Train. We know that Ozzie recycled many of the radio episodes into episodes for the tv show so I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that this radio episode of The Electric Train (Ozzie, or Thorny states Ricky age as 13 in the episode making it 1953 when it aired on the radio.) is the same with perhaps slight changes as the episode that aired on tv.
Here's the site with the radio episodes, The Electric Train is 3rd from the bottom. There's also an episode in the middle of the group called Worrying and Worrying. Perhaps that's the Stop Worrying tv episode? If we can't watch 'em at least we can listen to them! http://ia331305.us.archive.org/2/ite...Ozzie_Harriet/ |

Now this opens another can of worms. How many radio episodes were made into tv episodes. Also, how many radio shows were there? I do remember one radio show made to tv, I believe the title was The Receptionist.

Just discovered this board...great to see so many O&H fans!! Anyway, I think I read or saw an interview with one of Rick's twin sons a year or so ago (can't remember whether it was Gunnar or Matthew--can never tell them apart anyway, lol!)--but anyway whichever twin it was, he said that the family archives contained all of the episodes on film. And I remember David saying years ago that Ozzie selected what he thought were the best 200 episodes for syndication, and then he (David) went back to Ozzie's notes on each episode in pulling out the 100 more episodes for the Disney Channel's "Missing Adventures of O&H," which he then pulled from the vaults. So I have to think that the family has all of the episodes (just like they had all of Rick's master tapes for the CD reissues/box sets that have come out during this decade). Doesn't mean we'll see them, of course, but they probably still exist.

373: Rick Makes a Loan 12/11/1963 - You’re Free To Go & Little Miss Tease I found a DVD at Kroger of all places and it had 4 full length episodes [with songs] one was listed as "Dave Makes Loan'', but that was incorrect. It is the episode you describe with the 2 songs. I haven't found any episode guide which describes the episode to verify, but I am pretty sure of it. Here is what I found for ''Lending Money To Wally''. And, it actually sounds very similar to yet another episode [The High Cost of Dating] 10.20 [327] Ozzie & Harriet:LENDING MONEY TO WALLY 08Mar62 Rick and his fraternity brothers are planing a fancy dinner at a plush restaurant. Then Wally confesses that he can't afford it. (Repeat 20Sep62) Lending Money to Wally - The fraternity brothers pitch in to help debt-ridden Wally (Skip Young). The Nelsons: Themselves. Ginger: Charlene Salerno. Sandy: Sandra Gregg. |

I neeed to write a description for each episode when I start watching them again. Sometimes, I can tell by the ages of the boys if it's an earlier episode. The titles can totally confuse me though.

The descriptions of Lending Money to Wally is exactly what could be described for High Cost of Dating. |
