No show exists for me. If I like it, I buy it. And I buy all seasons or none. That's just how I'm programmed.

I am enjoying the S1 release of "The Paper Chase" but I have no interest in the Showtime episodes if they should ever make it to DVD because to me the "freedom" to see Hart cursing and having many casual affairs only serves to destroy the great sense of Midwestern naivete he displayed in the original CBS episodes that make them so fascinating to watch. I have the last episode where they graduate anyway from an off-air recording so I don't need to see what else happens.

Probably the following sitcoms:
Alice (Linda Lavin series) Good Times One Day at a Time Growing Pains Diff'rent Strokes Family Ties The Cosby Show Who's the Boss The Nanny Home Improvement Designing Women Facts of Life Perfect Strangers The Jeffersons And dramas: Mannix Hawaii Five-O Kojak Columbo Mission Impossible Perry Mason Rawhide Adam-12 I like all of the above series, and I've spent lots of time watching all of them, but at this time I wouldn't be interested in building a complete library of all episodes. I could change my mind in some cases -- for example, I like Meredith Baxter-Birney so I could go for more than one or two seasons of Family Ties. I know that's a longish list, but most of those series ran for a long time -- translating into quite a committment for complete runs. |

I think Mork & Mindy for me....I have season 1 (it was free), but I don't enjoy the show so much that it is a must own for me.

Some shows I put off getting, just because I can't buy all at once, but usually if I start a series, I feel compelled to complete it. but,
Petticoat Junction, I don't think I want the last 2 seasons, just wasn't any good without Bea Benaderet. |

^well that's beauty of everyone's diverse taste. I will want to own all of PJ, but as for The Lucy Show, if CBS at least puts out the three Danfield/Vivian Vance years, I'll be happy!

First off, shows that overlap another series I have like Rhoda for example. I like Rhoda the show and characters but I can see them on my Mary Tyler Moore eps. I like Petticoat Junction but I won't buy any more of it bec. of the way they've been releasing it - parts of a season are to me a rip off.
Mostly I refrain from buying shows because of clutter issues. But if I like a show I'll buy a season or two of it if I can get themn at a great price. Shows I like but would not buy the entire series: Family Ties, The Facts of Life, Family Matters, The Brady Bunch, Growing Pains & there are probably some more - but this is off the top of my head. |
