Sad Worried Pt. 2

My job called today but I missed the call and now I'm worried. They left a message on my cellphone and my house phone but I didn't get either until after the office was closed. My boss said in it "its 3:30 pm. if you get this call us back or call in the morning" they usually don't call me for anything unless they need me to fill in but then they just find someone else if they can't get a hold of me so i know its not that. I know this sounds silly and I usually don't get paranoid but w/ the state of the economy I can't help it. I know I haven't done anything wrong and most people would say "well if you didn't do anyhting wrong than you have nothing to worry about" but clients at the shelter have been doing things lately out of spite like making false claims with dcf against staff. My boss there just went through 2 months of hell being investigated because of a clients false claim. However, I'm low on the totum pole as I'm just a contracted worker. Again this sounds silly and it'll probably be something so inane but i'm real worried.

I'm sure it'll be okay. I totally understand though - with the economy the way it is, I freak out over everything. It always turns out to be nothing. Keep us posted though!

Don't worry.

Let us know what happens though..

I kinda got a scare on Friday. Usually I have my schedule by then and check the personal management computer to see what it is as well as get an e-mail.

When I got to work, it wasn't there and I thought they were cutting hours or maybe they were letting me go or something..

Turns out it was a glitch in the system, I got the e-mail a few hours later...

Since we haven't had an update yet, I'm hoping it was just a call to come into work today. No news is good news so far.

Let us know Kimberlee - keeping our fingers crossed.

Isn't this horrible how we're all so paranoid now. Not a great way to have to live. Hopefully we'll be out of this crisis near the end of the year. Hang in there.

Well, I wonder if the fact I didn't get my schedule on Friday morning had anything to do with this...

At my store, we had 8 managers which was too many managers and we should have had 4.

I figured that they would be transferred out.. Well, I was right about one manager... Another supervisor is now hourly.... Weird thing is, they transferred another manager from another store to my store when I thought they could have kept the one they had previously transferred out.

Three managers were let go.

Kimberlee, hang tight and let us all know how it goes! They were probably looking for you to fill in - they said call us back in the morning - it's probably something relatively minor - if it were major, they would have probably tried calling you back again during the day (I would think) or they would want you in IMMEDIATELY. But neither of that went down, so you should be OK.

Hi guys (and girls ) didn't mean to keep you all wondering. It turned out to be nothing like i thought, and i feel silly that i even bothered yall about something turning out to be so dumb. after worrying myself all night i called them the first minute this morning and it turned out to be some very minor warning about how i wasn't in proper uniform last friday. (another contracted co-worker tattled on me ) but i want to thank you all for being there for me, it comforted me alot that i was in your thoughts, it truly did because i had so much anxiety over this and its nice to have this little family here i can always turn to. so thank you (in no particular order) Monika, Doodyville, Liza, Tripperfan & Waterson_fan for your kind words and comfort. Its a scary time and its nice to know we can all lean on each other, to know no matter how bad our day is or how bad we're feeling, we're always among friends here.

Too bad you didn't tell them, you scared me to death!

I thought I was being let go or something... Or ask them, if it something like that, don't call and scare me.

Yeah, really! I thought about it and would have if I wasn't so relieved. Given the economic condition the nation is suffering from you'd think they'd be a little sensitive. But I guess with unemployment rates as they are they probably feel they have a bit of leverage and can wield the ax more freely.

But calling is the only way they can contact me as I'm contracted through them, so in reality I have 2 bosses the one at the place I'm actually assigned and my "mother" company. I see my assigned location boss everyday but I neve hear from my "mother" company boss unless theres an issue regarding coverage or some typeof insubordination. But something so petty like that they could have left it in a voicemail message!

I'm glad everything turned out OK

That was pretty chiuldish and petty of your co-worker to tattle about you not being in proper uniform.

It would be tempting to push that co-worker into dog poo and see if they stay in uniform all day!!

If I were their boss, I'd think they had too much time on their hands to inspect their co-workers uniforms and would make take on another chore or two. That IS pretty petty. Sounds like someone's jealous....
