I know this maybe should have been in the original post...but to recap....beginning last night March 15, 2009 over the air NJN1 Public Television in the NY/NJ Metro area started running "THE ADVENTURES OF OZZIE AND HARRIET REVISITED", episodes are scheduled at this time through April 2009, Sundays at 7:30PM....last nights episode....was "David's 17th Birthday" both released on the Shout set (edited) and MillCreek Essential Collection (full flashback rerun version). The episode that was shown was the Shout Version, edited as it appears to 19 minutes....with the 1985 Disney Channel/Harriet Nelson Trust copyright at end.....but to my shocking surprise, before the end credits, Rick was shown (obviously older) singing "Glory Train"....that does not appear on the Shout OR Mill Creek sets! Experts Please Weigh in????? What package is this being shown? We now know of three versions of this episode and will these NJN airings possibily continue giving us rare musical performances that couldn't be cleared for the Shout Sets?
Biggest Regret...I didn't record it because I didn't think anything "new" would show up! UPDATE: I did some research today and it seems this is an official 13 episode series which has and will be available nationally since Dec. 2008 through Dec. 2009 to PBS stations across the nation. The distributor is listed as "The Ozzie & Harriet Trust"...I saw all 13 episodes titles and all just part of an average starter collection, in fact most are on the Shout sets, even though "David's 17th Birthday" did contain Rick singing "Glory Train" which is not on the Shout set probably due to music license fees. Each episode does end with a plug to buy the shout sets with a phone number. Not really honest considering as I said some of the music is not on the Shout set, so someone buying it in hopes of getting Rick's "Glory Train" performance would be quite disappointed to see it edited out. |

Very few of the sets show Ricky singing at the end. I'm so excited for you! You really should record these shows, you never know how long it will last.

I just checked my Disney copies and David's 17th Birthday (one of my favorites mainly 'cause I love the old home movies!) has Glory Train tagged on the end.
I noticed also on my copy from Disney, this is telling you how long ago it aired on there, there was a 1-800 number that came across to subscribe to The Disney Channel, back when it a pay for premium channel. I remember, it was 10 dollars a month for the Disney Channel back then. My sisters and I pleaded with my Dad to get the Disney Channel. He caved. My sisters used to 'Mouserise' with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy before school every morning at 6am. lol I know the Disney shows have several earlier episodes with Rick singing tagged onto the end. I believe Dave's Pipe is another with 'For you'. |
